    Hi all,
I took my car ( 01 Renault Megane) for its nct the other day and it failed on the emissions, I was told a service mite be enough to fix the problem, but after getting it serviced today, the guy in the garage told me that the problem is actually caused by the fact that there is no catalytic converter in the car, he said it looks like it was taken out and welded over. Does anyone have any idea why it would have been taken out? and how much it might cost to get a new or second hand one? Also I bought the car from a main dealer about 18months ago, should they not have discovered this problem before selling it on? Thanks :-)
