I have money in EBS, at the mo it is earning 2.1% over 3 months

The maturity date is the 5th of Nov, and i want to find out which banks are giving the best interest at the mo for periods ranging no longer than 1 year

Last year the money was earning i think 4.X% over a 1 year term at EBS, not sure what it stands at now

    Advice would be appreciated, Thanks

ps any % i talk about is before DIRT

Some of the best instant access rates and 1 year fixed rates shown here.
Looks like 3.75% is about the highest now.

....but that is a regular saver account not a lump sum account. You can only put in a max of 1k a month .

Truth be told if its a small amount you'd be better running it through a Halifax current account. At 7% it's the best. T&C's apply of course.

It's only been 5% since October
The OP has a lump sum - the halifax account is a current account and only pays interest on the first €1500. You have to lodge min €1500 a month into it to qualify. Probably not what the OP is after?

I have checked this out and yes they are offering the 4% which seems quite good. However, when I use their investment calculator the result is a lot lower for some reason, can anyone explain?

I put in €3000 and it says I will only get back €55.50

With dirt at 25% I still expect it to be €90

    WTF?

The PTSB calculation is based on the 21 day notice investment account (1.85%) - not the 21 day notice regular saver. It is not listed on the calculator.
You won't get 90 euro because you can only save max 1000 a month - so you wont have 3k in the account straight away. The interest after 1 year will be around 109 before dirt. (81.75 after)

OK thanks for this, I thought didn't know it was the saver account not the lump sum offering 4%
