Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone heard of this before. I had the NCT booked at the start of Jan for next Sunday at Fonthill. Get a letter today saying that the NCT have cancelled my booking and that I now need to re-book!

    Surely free of charge, right?

Can't see why. They dont charge you till you go do the test so the OP isn't out of pocket.

I was thinking that - thought I read something on the old site about it.

It just seems strange that with everything booked 4 weeks ago, they now, 5 days before the test is due, decide to cancel it.

Haven't a new company taken over since the turn of the year? Something to do with that i'd have thought....

if the NCT can't provide you with a test within 4 or 5 weeks, you get your test for free when you do get it. So, if they canceled his test, and he can't get it within 5 weeks of when he first booked it, surely it should be free.

did they not announce that due to difficulty with recent weather that there would be some disruptions to their service whilst they got the snow cancelled backlog cleared?

    50! :(

If I were paying 50, I'd have a smiley face. Last time for me was 80

She who must be obeyed had her test which was scheduled for this evening in Fonthill cancelled too. The letter definitely said that the retest would be free on account of them cancelling it.

Were you asked to put the cash into a brown envelope and slip it over discretely?:D
Just can't figure how you were charged €80 though..

    Test fee = €50
Restest fee if test equipment is required = €28
Restest fee if no test equipment is required = Free €0
Fee for late cancelation or non attendance = €22
Prices can't change except by Ministerial order.

The letter didnt say anything about the retest being free of charge - just said to book within the next 2 weeks and that they were sorry. I'll call when making the booking see what they say.

Yeah I saw that alright but we're discussing how the "NCT cancelled test" not how the "AKE cancelled test" :)

Out of interest, how does the AKE compare to NCT, is it more detailed or just more expensive?
