Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tenerife should have scored twice and have had more of the ball. Think the heat could be getting to Valencia. Its 21c in the Canary Islands right now. A complete change to a still mild/wintery Valencia.

    Madrid Derby coming up next

    Getafe lineup:
Codina, Miguel Torres, Cata Díaz, Rafa, Mané, Celestini, Casquero, Albín, Manu, Pedro León, Soldado

    Atletico Madrid lineup:
De Gea, Valera, Perea, Domínguez, Antonio López, Assunçao, Jurado, Reyes, Simao, Agüero, Forlán

Headshot I honestly couldnt call it.

Valencia have had chances though definitely below par today.

Attacking Banega for Marchena was the switch.

    ****ing bastards anyway

was thinking that myself but the word is Flores is sticking with De Gea after some convincing performances in the Copa del Rey. Asenjo is not injured just dropped!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭Bukman13

Strange one, Asenjo has been one of the few positives this season. He had a dodgey game last week, but IT seems a bit impulsive to just drop him.

Anyway lets hope he aint needed, and we can close the gap further on the top 7.

I use to live a stones throw from the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

I you lived in a certain apartment block on Avda Teresa outside you could watch all games for free with a clear unobscured view!

Have you ever watched Marchena play? He is classy, I don't get why he isn't starting lately.

Jurado off - Tiago on - That challenge on Jurado in the first half must have been the cause.

Reyes has had a mere thus far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

    De Gea is playing well.

    Asenjo must be getting worried.

The Guardian done a write up on De Gea last week.

    Real Madrid lineup:
Casillas; Ramos, Albiol, Garay, Arbeloa; Lass, Xabi Alonso, Kaká, Guti; Ronaldo, Benzema

Guti first start since the infamous Alcorcon drubbing ?

Man Citys Caicedo on loan at Malaga leads the attack.

We need to change something, he should throw Ibra on.

Edit: Assuncao Red card, he seems to get sent off every second match...haha

    Tough ask now.

Ibra on with 3mins to go... 30mins too late IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

    Casillas to the rescue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

    Guti with a smashing volley.

    Keeper saved well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Interesting that Guti has the armband and not Casillas.

    Seniority ?

    Guti has been top class.

Kaka still looks off the pace.

Mallorca could have had about 2/3 themselves.

    Ronaldo's 2nd was brilliant.

Might flick over for the 2nd half.

Job done for Real though Ronaldo seeing red has taken the gloss off it.

Second time he has seen red in the past six weeks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,590 ✭✭✭jaykay74

How many reds has Ronaldo received for Madrid so far. That must be 2 or 3 already.

Marchena is....a 'no-nonsense' defender. I think there was a good stat when Real played at the Mestalla about him, Ramos and red cards

Ronaldo on the sending off incident:
    Ronaldo wrote:
"I had the intention of playing the ball. I learned a lot about this in England, because in the past I used to dive, but I am a bit angry that players do things like this," he said.

That'll warm the hearts of the ABU's. :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

It was definitely a red card.

He broke the lads nose as well. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,267 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

Was at the Bernabeú last night and saw why Ronaldo loves Real.

The fans indulge his attitude because of his skill and he indulges their support of Real because of the adoration he receives. He put on a big show last night. He scored two cracking goals (first one was the end of a lovely move) and when he was sent off, he pleaded his innocence in the most dramatic style possible. The Real fans lapped it up.

I thought the game was pretty good. Real were a joy to watch, Malaga had some nice moves too.

Also, my Spanish isn't great so could someone help me out: when Ronaldo was sent off and Mtiliga was on the ground, the Real fans started shouting either "fuega", "fuera" or "prega". I haven't a clue what they meant.

I'll never forget the angry looks I got off the Madrid supporters around me when I burst out laughing at Ronaldo's antics when he got red-carded, I thought I was gonna be lynched!!
Lass is some workhorse, and Alonso can distribute some passes.
    Ronaldo's second was brilliant too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Ronaldo has been officially handed a two game ban following his second red card in the past six weeks. Real Madrid have immediately announced that they will be appealing. If upheld he will miss saturdays game against Deportivo then the following one against Espanyol.
