Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hi folks just a quick question, i am heading to spain in the morning and wondering can i bring my DSLR on as hand luggage, i have the camera 2 lenes spare battery , external flash, some cleaning stuff (no liquid) memory card reader, and a cable to connect to laptop, it'll all be going into a camrea bag inside a holdall, is this ok to go through as hand luggage? i hope so as there is no space (or kg's left) in my hold luggage, thanks in advance guys.

Christ don't even joke about putting your DSLR in your check in luggage. You should be fine with that amount. I flew to the states and back with a similar load a couple of weeks ago. I assume that bag is a proper camera bag. If not you might want to invest in one, something like one of the Lowepro Computertrakker AW's.

Shouldn't be a problem... went to America and Germany with my full set. Germans wanted a look in the bag - he had the same model - but no hassle.

I know you have gone now, so have a good trip.

My problem now is that the Hand Luggage is not enough for the "Camera" as it's also all the associated equipment that goes with it. The trick is to carry it so that it doesn't look like it weighs a ton.

Would not consider putting it in the hold unless it was really really well protected (like in a Pelican)

Was that in Alice Springs airport by any chance? I was hauled in there before and told they had a new semtex detector they wanted to try out ... and as I was Irish there was probably a 50/50 chance of something showing up!!!!

Almost, I was on my way to Alice Springs, but it happened in Cairns.

Don't think I've ever been under the hand luggage weight limit, not that it has ever been checked. As CabanSail says, just make it look as light as possible and throw it over one shoulder.

Had my entire camera bag searched I'm Berlin airport. Best thing to
do is maybe put the camera through xray seperately. Like in the same way you would for a laptop

Seems to be a German thing!

I came through Berlin back in October and they swabbed all my camera gear for explosives.
Then came through Memmingen in December and at security they made me take out every bit of gear, looked through the lenses, turn on the camera, etc.

Last year on a trip to Canada I probably went through 5 airports and in every one my bag was swabbed for drugs! :)

You must all be very dodgy looking! :D

I've never been asked to take anything out of my camera bag (and I get through a lot of airports).
