Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi all,
im looking at getting a pair of braces to go with a nice brown pair of ted baker trousers ive bought recently. but i cant seem to find anywhere that sells decent ones. Dont want to go to the likes of topman as ive a personal issue with them and they are on my 'banned' list :)
another issue is whether i could actually get away with wearing them... am i getting too old already or are they as smart as i think they are?
anyway thanks in advance for the advice

You'll pick'em up in plenty of places, you don't need to go near Topshop and the like.

M&S has black and red ones, TM. Lewin's have some more colours, or you could buy online, where you'll get just about every colour and pattern under the sun.

They can definitely look smart if you get it right. I was wearing a pair of bright red braces Friday night.

If you have a sense of style and can carry it off.. go for it. They can look great on the right person.

cheers guys, im thinking a nice brown pair to go with the trousers, with maybe a dark olive green shirt.

where on line do you recommend for a good quality set?

The range of choice is a bit limited tbh. You'll find a better selection online if you have the time to wait. Also note that there are two different fastenings, snaps and button. Few if any trousers are sold with buttons these days but you can get them sewn in in any alterations centre. The button down braces are so much smarter and worth the effort.

Oh and the buttons go INSIDE the waistband of your trousers if you get them done. :)

I bought two pair of button downs in Clearys for a pair of trousers I had made recently. Snaps are available everywhere, in mens shops rather then lads shops.
Never wear then to tight, there is supposed to be a little give in them.
