Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

City team for today isn't exactly confidence inspiring -

City team: Taylor, Onuoha, Boyata, Kompany, Silvinho, De Jong, Ireland, Ibrahim, Robinho, Petrov, Benjani

Might throw a sneaky fiver on Scunny just in case.

Is there some pact amoungst the top Premier League teams to hand Chelsea the FA Cup?

Certainly seems that way but City aren't a big team.....

I'm not at all. I like City and I'm not some sort of wind up merchant.

It was done in jest really. The ;) should've been the indicator that it was a joke.

I agree. Nice second team to have.

Subs: Nielsen, Richards, SWP, Zabaleta, Barry, Bellamy, Cunningham

If De Jong gets injured I'll go mental

From BBC. According to Robinho he is on the way out after this match.

    1532:
A bit of news for you. Robinho starts for Manchester City against Scunthorpe at Glanford Park, just hours after telling Brazilian radio that the game against the Iron will be his last one for the club. The £32.5m man is being linked with a loan move back to his homeland. Full teams from that game to follow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,900 ✭✭✭Eire-Dearg

Robinho ... Petrov ... Ireland ... Benjani - plenty of stuff there to win this comfortably. Defense, although quite makeshift, seems solid enough too. Onuoha, VK and Boyata are good players.

Bit of a shock in the last game, can't see one here though. City to cruise through.
I see they are playing the reserves, might be the second most expensive reserve team ever, I'd imagine Chelsea had a more expensive one considering that a couple of the City team came through from the youths.

Yeah he's away back to Brazil on loan I believe.

606 say he has been "advised by the directors" to move on...

What a disgrace of a footballer

Wow he is a disgrace now because he didn't like it in England and the game doesn't suit him?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

He is gifted with talent. But seems to not understand the importance of dedication to get the highest levels of football. No top club will look at him against until he can prove his form somewhere respectable. Big chance missed at City to be honest, a chance that for example Tevez is taking.

Nonetheless, he'll tear up the Brazilian league for a while on City's paycheck, ensure he gets into the WC squad, and maybe do something special at the world cup to get a big move, so I'd guess he's happy.

Is that what he said ? I haven't read too much about the reasons for his lack of effort. Money well spent by City anyway. He raised their profile quickly and was a statement of intent. The fee isn't relevant to the owners obviously, may as well have been 300m.

ITV should really change their opening sequence considering Liverpool, Arsenal and United aren't in it anymore.

Great to have Superman back btw. Important 90 minutes for him today so he can be in contention for midweek.

Seems to be out of favour recently. I think he offers a lot more in midfield for your lot.

Have you watched him this season? This isn't about Robinho not adapting to the English game (which is rubbish because he was banging goals in last season); it's the fact that his attitude stinks and that he never put a tap of effort into playing his way into the City team.

I'm delighted Barcelona have told him where to go.

My bad. I saw him on the bench for the last two games and thought he was just out of favour.

Man City look like they're trying there best to pull a "Tottenham" a lot of passing going astray at the moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Robinho is piss poor. Serious lack of commitment.
