Problem with cold water supply in shower

We have a conventional shower in our ensuite (no power shower - no hose) and for the last couple of days, the pressure of the cold water has been very poor. Very little cold water is coming through. The hot water is coming through normally though and all the other taps - hot and cold - are working perfectly everywhere else in the house. The council has been turning the water off every night since the cold snap so it's probably because of it. Any advice would be appreciated.

If your shower is fed from the mains then the counil would be the reason, but it wouldnt be the norm for the shower to be fed this way.

You can check if it is or not, turn of the valve under your kitchen sink, the cold water should stop. If it does, then go to the shower and try the cold. If its completley off then thats the reason.

If not, it might be the storage tank isnt full like it used to be because of the low pressure in the area and the tank isnt filling quick enough. You could have a look in the attic and see is this the case.

Third option would be lime scale in the head which a cleaning with vinegar would clean.
