Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hey guys:)just wondering if any of you could give me some advice here..,I got a full head of blonde highlights in my hair about 6 weeks ago its about my second time doing it now..,

anyway now my roots are starting to come through really bad but its just too dear to keep going back every 6 weeks to get it done and I've started thinking about doing a root touch up at home....,just wondering if anyone has any advice from doing it with blonde highlights...cause its such an awkward color i'm afraid the roots won't blend in or it will go ginger or something:o
    any advice is helpful;)

I've never done home highlights, but anytime I did an all-over blonde colour, my roots went ginger. I wouldn't risk it personally. You're very unlikely to be able to match the colour properly, and you'll likely end up with loads of different colours.

    My suggestions are:

    1. Get a subtle lowlight put in the next time. It really helps to break up the roots and makes them look less obvious
    2. Go to student classes to get your hair done. They're well supervised and everything is run past a qualified hairdresser before they do anything. It's about half the price of a regular salon colour too!

yea I was mainly wondering if anyone else had tried dying their hair blonde themselves and it went ginger, seems like too much of a risk

thanks so much for your advice:)suggestions are very helpful student classes sound like a good idea think i'll give that a go and I might ask my hairdresser about the lowlight, could help if it didn't make my roots so drastic against the blonde, thanks again appreciate it!

My hair is naturally brown but at the moment have it fairly light blonde and have the exact same problem with roots. I started using Sun In in between getting it coloured and it works GREAT. Its about 7-9 euro a bottle and you can get it in most boots stores.

When your hair is wet you just spray it in (only on your roots if thats all you want lightened) and it covers it up. Its so natural looking and I've gotten so many compliments on it! Way more than when i have it done professionally:eek: I've taken to just using it instead of getting it done professionally at all! You can create your own highlights with it too if you just spray certain sections of the hair but I've never tried this.

    Can't recommend it enough!!:D:D

I had an awful experience with Sun In when I was younger...... it turned my hair orange, and everytime I used the hairdryer it made it worse

Oh no! Well I tested it on my hair first as i was a bit worried, so if you do that it shouldn't be a problem. I've never had a bad experience with it, and yeah it gets a little bit brighter if it gets exposed to sun or heat (hairdryer) but not very noticieably i've found:)
