Attic Insulation Causing Condensation

Last Summer I had the attic insulated between the joists and a chipboard floor put down.

Yesterday, I lifted some boards as I was feeding a length of coax through the wall into the attic.

But I noticed that the insulation and the joists were wet, as if by condensation. There were no pipes in this area and I am happy that there is not a leak.

Is this normal or should I be worried?

it sounds like a lack of air circulation, there must be a gap where the insulation meets the corner where the pitch of the roof comes down to meet the floor joists

do you have a extractor running from a bathroom which could be leaking which could cause condensation build up.
but if you have the attic floored, would taking out the insulation be an option which would help airflow.

Mossie,

You were bang on with your advice.

I lifted the floor in the attic, above the fan for the bathroom, and the hose had become detached from the fan, leaving the moisture to fall into the under-floor space.
