Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Sly sports loving Liverpool slipping up? Why is Merson doing the Liverpool game when they have both Paul Jewel and Phil Thompson there?

cause maybe everyone that doesn't support liverpool was sick of Thompson's biased commentary.

    Dangerous position,,,,

I think over the past couple of seasons, they have had a policy of no former players covering their old clubs. You never see Champagne Charlie covering Arsenal anymore either!!

His delivery's been nothing short of abysmal tonight I'd take him off and use the fact that he's just back from injury as an excuse for doing so if I were Rafa. He's played poory though that can be said for most other players on the pitch

Was hoping gerrard would get another games rest tonight myself but no, as soon as hes able to stand upright hes back in, not helping him or the team imo. Cant see why aquilani couldnt play, this game is perfect for him.

This match actually gets worse and worse and worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,137 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

Why can he not manage the team (ie make changes that are desperately needed)?

  • Registered Users Posts: 479 ✭✭SWAR

This game has been crying out for Aquilani since about the 5th minute...we have nobody who can link the play.

Dont be mad. We need two stoppers in midfield against a mighty team like Wolves. Do you expect Rafa to take a chance or something.

2 shots on target so far. Exciting stuff. We are getting better.

    Why did Benitez buy Aquilani?

why do people allow Gerrard to take corners?

Who's gonna stop him? He's the captain and he'd probably start sulking if he was taken off them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,082 ✭✭✭✭Spiritoftheseventies

    Gerrard way off the pace

oh my goodness. another inept display. i could play better myself ffs!! you pass the ball to a guy in red, how hard is that concept to grasp! lucas has been missing the whole game and yet will probably finish out the90 mins...or come off for the last 2 mins. im so sick and tired of being a liverpool fan at this stage! disillusioned isnt the word for it at this stage!! if i met a genie and was given one wish it would be that i couldve been born a gunners fan and not a liverpool fan!! my younger bro is a gunners fan, he has no idea how lucky he is that he isnt a pool fan..my go what a terrible existence as a footie fan to follow liverpool...

Lucas gets the ball on edge of box, lovely chance for cross, no - he passes it back to Masch who takes a cross from worse position - goal kick.

    Time for change me thinks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Mascherano hits it out for a goal kick . Awful stuff

Can't believe Aquaman hasn't come on.

This match deserves to finish nil all.

    Rafa?

Rafa: Stevie, you are no longer taking corners
    Gerrard: Why boss?
Rafa: Because you'r sh1t at taking them

Absolute muck. This team is only going backwards under Benitez and his increasingly one-dimentional and ultra-negative tactics.

What channel is it on, looks like another 2pts dropped, thought we had turned corner

Christ that was desperate from Pool.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,207 ✭✭✭meditraitor

That ranks as one of the worst games I have ever seen, this liverpool team should be ashamed of themselves.....

    0-0. Epic Fail.

So much for our attacking line up.

The players need to start playing for the manager.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,282 ✭✭✭Glico Man

    Mercifully its over....

to sum it up....terrible, no movement, no width, no skill at all in both holding onto the ball or passing...

    will this season ever end:mad:

that was only have chance for gerrard, he was never in control and quickly closed down, all over, its a point at least!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Another negative, one dimensional, inept display from a team that look a million miles away from the Champions League. Serious questions have to be asked about the team selection and the manager's non-existant tactics.

Maybe Juve mightn't be the worst thing.

Iraq goals on net. Comes in and out depending on connection.

Unfortunately tonight was worse than ever. I reckon he'll be gone by Sat.

I stand by my leave Gerrard out comment. Aquilani would have been a better start. The team seems more lively when he's not playing.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

All the hard work / effort put in against Spurs now means f**K all after that muck...just terrible. Can't even remember a decent chance that we had...against Wolves...f**king Wolves...

One upfront against Wolves? Didn't see too much attacking myself.

Rafa has my support, but my trust in him was really tested tonight. Kuyt is not a striker and hasn't been one for years. Start with Ngog up top. We have played well over the last few weeks when Aquilani is on the pitch, why did he not start or at least get 30 minutes?

    Gah.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,519 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I don't know what to say. What the hell can you say?
I am sure the manager will be evaluated in the summer.

A few of the players should be as well.

I have made no secret of my belief Gerrard may well be worth selling at the point in his career.

    That's the managers problem.
Gerrard super captain again when the backs are against the wall...

    all down the drain now

Pure muck. Let Juventus have him.

Typical of the muck you read in here.

How about the 10 pool players that couldnt string a pass together?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,629 ✭✭✭magma69

That was enough to put anybody off the sport. Depressing.

This season has been so depressing and that match was just summed it perfectly.

Doyle was the only player on the pitch of top 4 quality. If you were judging by that match
