xbmc update went wrong,now cant boot or ftp

hi
i got hold of my first xbox.
i checked the xbmc version -
it is written as
xbmc pre-2.1
compiled oct 21,2007
mplayer xbmc-svn-r10070

originally - when i switched on my xbox, i got opions boot xbmc, boot msdash, settings, etc
when i selected xbmc, it used to start up xbmc and display old xbmc.

ftp,
i connected to ftp
ftp connection was available only when i switched on xbox and went into xbmc section
the xbmc was saved in the Q drive of xbox
to upgrade:
i transferred xbmc contents to c drive apps folder C:\APPS\xbmc
and renamed my c:\evoxdash.xbe to c:\oldevoxdash.xbe
copied shortcut downloaded into C drive and renamed it as
c:\evoxdash.xbe and c:evoxdash.cfg
now when i rebooted the xbox, i can see xbox logo and then after that plain screen
now i cant connect to ftp also

i was pressing so many buttons the remote panicked...i got some settings screen with
network
video
audio
backup euvox
back up msdash
create backup
restore euvox
restore msdash
open dvd tray
close dvdtray
exit xbox
restart xbox
hoping all works fine i selected restart xbox
and then i got my failure screen again after xbox logo n music

does any one know how to get back to the settings screen and get back my xbox?

i managed to get back my xbmc and xbox before it died
thanks to backup evox
now i need to find out how to update xbmc

Q drive is virtual drive. you have to copy the XBMC to e drive, best would be e:\apps\Xbmc and copy shortcut from here + edit cfg file.

do you have your xbox softmodded or chipped?

managed to update it...got it working now
moved from laptop to connected to 40inch LCD via ca cable
to xbox to 40LCD via Yellow cable
xbox clarity is poor
may be due to cable
also most of things working on pc is not working here...
its just my bad luck i guess
