Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm creating a website for a voluntary group, part of which will need to be updated often by people not highly skilled in web development. It's been suggested that an open source content management system would be most suitable here. Can anybody help or offer advice?

Once installed a Content Management System manages the content or articles & images etc of website without the need of web developers. Most use a "theme" system that can apply a look and feel to a website too. Many themes are free but there are many for purchase too.

There are many open source CMS but the two most popular by far are
    Joomla - http://www.joomla.org
    and
    Drupal - http://drupal.org
I could recommend either usually it's a case of personal preference.

I would recommend trying out the demos available on both to help you decide.

Joomla has over 4500 addons available and a huge community. You get a lot more than content management with it. It depends on your requirements. Can I suggest rockettheme.com or yootheme.com for out of the box professional templates for Joomla.

Wordpress is worth a look too, great for a blog based site. There is also moveable type the CMS product that Barrack Obamas website was developed in.

    Hope that helps.

If you decide to go with Joomla!(my personal favourite) then http://www.joomla24.com/ is a great place to get free templates for the design.
