Best Hostel to stay at is Bru Hostel on McCurtain street - very easy going place with a bar downstairs that you can fall into post night club.:)

As for places to go, it depends on what music/scene you are into. Everyone seems to go to Havana Browns - on a saturday night it as one floor full of chart music and an upstairs with more deep house/dance. Other option would be Gorbys - its where the students go and also teh Pav nightclub, again this is really a dance spot.

As for pubs, head for Washington street unless you want something a little different. Best off to ask the guys in Bru and they'll set you on your ''merry'' (hiccup) way!

Have a great weekend and welcome to the South ;)

+1 for the Bru. Word of advise, Cork bouncers and notorious of stopping large crowds, especially stag parties, go to the door in smaller groups and bring ID.

Id recommend trying Reardans and then up to the club Havanas afterwards. Reardans is a late bar so ye could stay there for the night too if ye wanted, theres always good bands on there on Friday and Sunday nights.

The bouncers on the doors there can be very choosey at times though so if ye dont get in try Cubins, it another club around the corner from Reardans. Ye could always stop in Bob foxes on the way, full of ppl in the mid 20's, :)

+1 for breaking into smaller groups. In Newcastle you get to skip the queue if you are a large group! Go figure!

I'd recommend the Classic too for the night club. Great spot and easy going inside and on the door.
