And so it begins. Welcome to Boards, countless new members who will sign up just to plug their campaigns. o/

I say let them plug their campaign. That's fair enough and helps to inform voters. If we get anyone signing up just to bash candidates other than their mate then I say ban them. Less of that ****.

Many apologies to anyone who I've annoyed by joining up to make you aware that I'm running, it wasn't my intention!! Welfare & Ed is a more difficult position than most give it credit for being, and its important that voters know the candidates and make a well informed decision (knowing whos running may be useful?). Sorry all the same!

Its been years since anyone has run for re-election, I think the last two to run were both presidents, one was successful :)

K4T - not sure what advice I gave you at the time (were you one of the 25%?????????) but I'm glad uve kept yourself sti free lol, keep up the good work champ :)

Again, apologies for intruding on boards but if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them here, on facebook, or in person. You won't know if you don't ask.

    Love xx

Actually reading her fb page and I wouldn't vote for her if you paid me. No doubt she'll have a chance of winning though because she's attractive.

"Meh this is Cait's Page as she is running for Ents Officer in Maynooth!"

    Meh indeed, Cait.

    I predict fail.

hmmm, this could be the cheapest election ever. whoever gets the most facebook friends wins!

no wasted paper, complete transpareny in the voting system, no expensive banners or printing....

    anyway, welcome Liz.

y'know, I'm half tempted to see if we can get a NUIMSU candidate debate going using the debate forum. If nothing else it would raise the profile of boards.ie with the NUIM student population.... muhahahahahaaaaa!

Their last chance to have some sort of meaningful impact free from the politics of administration and we get this?

Every year it becomes a more shameful waste of student resources - which would be somewhat more tragic if the student body gave a sliver of a s**t about it in the first place.

Aye that one is a right tit it seems.
If elected Cait will try to reinstate RAG week even if it means to make it unofficial!

Suppose she can be the unofficial Ents Officer too then

Is it common for a first year to run for a part-time position?

Either way, good luck Louise! We haven't seen you around here lately, but you're doing Gorey proud. ;)

The current Ents and Finance Officers ran as first years, are in second year now, so it's not unheard of.

banquo, good work on the links, it interesting to get a chance to read over everyone's manifesto. I don't have a vote & as staff we stay neutral but it's good to know what's planned for next year.

    Any front-runners?
