nokia 1208-no ringtone

I have a nokia 1208 with a 3pay sim (came unlocked ,bought at tesco)

When i get an incoming call it displays the phone symbol and a red 'x' and there's no ringtone,i can answer the call no problem.I've tried a factory reset to no avail.

The message tones work fine .

Just wondering what the problem is ,thanks

Private numbers by any chance?

This just to happen with an old model a lot, 60XX something cant remember exact model, but a simple reboot solved the problem

i will try an o2 sim later in case

i put in an '02 3g ' and it rings fine but not with 3pay(displays caller name only)
go figure!

i've narrowed this problem down -maybe someone can advise me.

put in a new 02 3g sim this morning and ringtones are on

phone rings fine when i call from landline

when i call from an 02 handset-no ringtone displays an x and the callers number(i tried two handsets)
