Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You can get a Bus direct from Busaras to Ballyshannon, and then either another Bus or a Taxi to Bundoran, it's not too far.

could take the train to Sligo (3 hours)
then a bus from Sligo which takes I guess around an hour, as its about a 35 min drive by car.

Insanity to use this route. Bundoran's in the Republic, why did you think Translink would give a decent route for it?

Bus to Sligo and then: http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1202387983-480sd.pdf. One change, not the what, 6 Translink would have you do there?

True, my response was based on the assumption that the OP had already exhausted all the Bus Eireann options.

Thanks, nearly got a heart attack when I saw 6:D

I was trying to make the 'net do it for me, but it gave me weird answers.
I think I just amn't able to use that Bus Eireann website.

While this is obviously not the best way to get from Dublin to Bundoran, I am impressed by the Translink website being able to deliver such information.

Hardly impressive, any proposed route in this direction would surely use a direct bus from Dublin to Enniskillen rather than taking a train to Portadown, a bus to Dungannon and another to Enniskillen!

What is ridiculous is that the Irish Rail route planner cannot give you a route to all of the rail stations in NI. It is not as if the Irish rail network is that extensive.

Bundoran is only 8km from Ballyshannon, so a bus to there and a taxi would be pretty efficient.

    Use buseireann route planner.

Linked from their website if you click though "Your Journey"
    Direct link below for convenience

    http://194.106.151.94/jplan/bin/

    Says:
    Route 23 (Dublin - Sligo)
Route 64 (Sligo - Derry [stopping in Bundoran])

Seems simple enough to me but then I'm a tech.

It is usually quickest to go via Ballyshannon on the Dublin - Donegal route 30 and it is the best choice if you need to get a taxi if there are no convenient connections as Bundoran is only 10 mns away.
Via Sligo train or bus and route 64 from there is a good alternative, note the times on route 64 change from Jan 31 so make sure you look at the correct timetable.

Through bus tickets are available and are valid for both routes in both directions.
