Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. 2 bottles were thrown at Bellamy, the first one certainly looked nearly full and if it smacked him in the head, would have caused some damage... do they sell bottles in the stadium?? Bellamy was hit with a coin, there really should have been police at the corners

Great finish to a good 2nd half

Christ, its daft how a few fans will do something so stupid and end up leveling the club with a potential heafty fine to mar a great game.

The kids went well anyway. That Scholes fella looks a prospect, and that Giggs young lad too.

Glad we pushed that lot all the way and forced Fergie to backtrack on his policy. Sign of things to come.

If things were the other way around and there was one United fan and half the forum City fans, then that's highly doubtful.

Best atmosphere I've ever heard in Old Trafford, the fans did the opposite to letting United down. One coin, or whatever it was, thrown doesn't make any difference to the other 70,000 United fans' performance in Old Trafford tonight.

Ah no Xavi, cant let them at that. they might start thinking theyre the only club in greater manchester.

    Not any more.

Every incident involving United is treated more harsh. They'll get a big fine for the coin and beer incident I'd say. I'd love to punch Bellamy in the mouth in a fair fight but throwing coins and bottles is disgusting.
Sky haven't highlighted the coin incident yet but i'm sure sky sports news will have it on every hour on the hour with an exclusive interview with the Coin.

The curse of Garry Cook strikes again :D

I think Utd shoudl be kicked out of the League cup because of the disgraceful ehaviour of their fans and Ireland should take their place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,136 ✭✭✭del88

Let's hope this really kicks the season....
A lot of good things about tonight....namely nani starting to look half decent.
I'm also happy to see fletcher playing...we really need him to be playing every week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,204 ✭✭✭elius

I am not sure what that has got to do with events at Old Trafford

If it was, Any other city player i would have said thats a terrible act a bottle being thrown at him. But i have no time for bellemy at all regardless of who he plays with.. Good enough for him..
Though i do hope those involved are found and banned..

    Good Good Game ,
    Great Great Result :D
Nani ,Rooney and Fletcher where fantastic , Giggs and Scholes make me eat my pre-match words (kind of), Rio par the Tevez goal was very good. VDS make some difference .
Tevez and Givens (That Save was outstanding ,world class )where fantastic again for city .Think Ireland was missed bigtime over the two legs.

    unlucky City .

    but

    Get in there :D:D:D

    Roll on Arsenal ,

Did he miss the whole second half?

off topic, but nice goal from stokes for hibs against celtic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

    Nani was very good tonight.

Rafael was poor i thought, yet he gets praised here by some? strange.

despite his goal, i thought Carrick was awful. giggs & scholes were excellent for the last half hour.

Tevez was quality, City mifdfield struggled second half, young centre half for City looks like he's gonna be a very good player.

Don't let them get to you Xavi, City tried their best and have to be complemented for it, certainly signs they are going to be a threat in the coming years.

United got one over on their local rivals let us have our win, you aren't know to be bitter or a bad loser.

Who was man of the match? Hope it was Nani. Deserved it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,466 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Seems to actually be a nice enough bloke - just a bit of a nutter.

I have no problems with him. Told Shearer to shove it, whats not to like?:D

He can be an irritating fooker on the pitch but he is the type of player fans of his team love - a player that is always fighting and harrying the opposition and he shows fantastic commitment.

Bellamy has been fantastic this season, and the player that worried me most in the games vs United this season.

    What did Raf do wrong?

dealt with the pace of bel a lot better

    put in some fantastic tackles

    few crosses.

I can't think of many second choice right backs who are better

    can you?

Bellamy is one of those players that opposition fans love to hate but elius wishing he was injured by throwing bottles and coins at him is just childish.

I think Bekllamy is a fantastic football player and enjoyed his short stint at Celtic

Whats the story with highlights of this game tonight. Do i have to wait for MOTD or do you reckon SS News might show the goals before the beeb

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,418 ✭✭✭curry-muff

Even after all he has done to United, I just cant hate Bellamy after the Rangers fan incident :D

Never knew about his charity work, fair play to him.

Admittedly im a bit pissed off with him tonight but im sure it'll wear off :pac:
