Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

4 Andrea Dovizioso Repsol Honda Team
5 Colin Edwards Monster Yamaha Tech 3
    7 Hiroshi Aoyama Interwetten-Honda MotoGP
11 Ben Spies Monster Yamaha Tech 3
14 Randy de Puniet LCR Honda MotoGP
19 Alvaro Bautista Rizla Suzuki MotoGP
24 Marco Melandri San Carlo Honda Gresini
26 Dani Pedrosa Repsol Honda Team
27 Casey Stoner Ducati Marlboro Team
36 Mika Kallio Pramac Racing Team
40 Hector Barbera Aspar MotoGP Team
41 Aleix Espargaro Pramac Racing Team
46 Valentino Rossi Fiat Yamaha Team
58 Marco Simoncelli San Carlo Honda Gresini
65 Loris Capirossi Rizla Suzuki MotoGP
69 Nicky Hayden Ducati Marlboro Team
99 Jorge Lorenzo Fiat Yamaha Team

Nothing that wasnt expected but its great to see so many class rookies in the field for next season. Should be exciting to see Simoncelli on a big bike, his style on the 125 and 250 bikes was always to get the bike standing up as quick as possible which is the way to ride a MotoGP bike. Add in Spies, Bautista and Aoyama to the regualars and you'd have to say that we are in a golden age of premier class GP racing

is 17 not a pretty small number? I'm not to onboard with MotoGP watch it now and again.

Why are the numbers all over the place instead of 1-17 too?

It is a small grid and Dorna(the series organisers) are looking to get more riders on the grid in future. As it is though teams are finding it very hard to get sponsers.

The numbers are 'all over the place' because in bike racing, as well as some car racing series(NASCAR, Indy Car) drivers/riders choose their own number to go racing. It may be a lucky number or a number they were assigned but they have the freedom to choose their own numbers.
Bear in mind that F1 had a situation whereby new numbers were given out for each individual race meeting until the 60s then everyone got a number but it was only in the late 70's-i think- that teams were given specific numbers and even then not based on the previous championship. It was only in the early 90s that the previous years constructors championship reflected the numbers used throughout a season.

its a small grid alright but even if there was more they'd most likely be back markers so would it really make a difference to the racing your going to see on tv?

as much as i want to see more bikes on the grid 17 isn't the end of the world and with the introduction of new engine rules in 2012 i can see the return of companies like aprilia and Kawasaki.
