    10 years too late :(
Anywhere that LLU is now UPC generally cover so that makes LLU almost worthless, this would have been better 10 years ago when LLU was starting off.

Waste of time now for the most part

Proves 2 things, how desperate Eircom are to restrict any form of competition and also how useless Comreg are at getting them to do anything... complete waste of time and as has been pointed out... this is waaaaaaaay too late!!!!!

Its one of the first cases where comreg didn't just back down when eircom challenged them,

Of course it took them...what...three years to come to a "settlement" the details of which we won't be told.

LLU is no longer something thats attractive in Ireland, when it comes to the market in Ireland its now between Eircom and its resellers and UPC.

The likes of Magnet and Smart will get customer alright but eircom don't fear them...UPC on the other hand Eircom do fear in the citys :)

Of course this "might" change if Vodafone/BT and now Digiweb/Smart get their acts together

Was it ever? I've always thought that the terrible state of LLU (costs mainly) here was the reason Sky (for one) never sold broadband here.

I agree with pretty much everyone else, this is far too late, and will make no difference. I can't see the price reduction being passed on to consumers either. The LLU operators are already making feck all from it and they need to make money if they're ever going to expand.
