spotlights question

    i replaced 2 ceiling rose light fittings in my dining room with 4 transformers and 12 spotlights. they are working fine but is the 1.5 sq cable feeding them enough?

    you would run a separate 10amp cct. rather than 'up' the cable size if loading was an issue.

    you should be fine anyway.whats the total load there?.12*20watt?
    don't like to see the 12v 60va/70va trafos feeding 3 20watt mr16 spots as the bulbs can be 'upped' by accident later

    12 spots, 3 spot per trafo, 20 watt mr11 bulbs. cant find any specs on trafo. You reckon they be grand once the bulbs are correct.

    trafos are usually marked with the VA rating.
    the electronic type usually have overload/short-circuit protection

    30-60 va is stamped on trafo

    prob electronic so.
    the only danger is the potential for overload later if bulbs are changed
