Rural Ireland Says Enough.[We do like our long winded or alphabet soup organisational names here:)]
Got this email from Countryside Alliance ,announcing the set up of this organisation.Anyone know who is running this, and has it any benefit or plans for helping out the shooting faternatity???And I dont just mean the driven pheasent social event crowd. All in all will this go anywhere or will it just become another long named, little support, small membership organisation in the pond of irish organisations?
    Your thoughts folks??

We absolutely do not need another one. However we do have a couple of hundred thousand gun owners with a real knowledge of, and interest in, rural Ireland. Rather than reinventing the wheel why not all of us join the Green Party. We have seen the power wielded by their extremists eg 'fur farming for nama'. If enough of us joined up we could have FF grabbing their ankles rather than us.

Why not just leave it as the Green party??after all it is our national color and the colour of hunters.Or call it the "new" Green party.
But despite this,it is a good idea of joining them.Get into the system to change it.

the problem we face is our image in the public eye.

gun crime 1800 hand guns in circulation in ireland now ,main figures getting up in the dail /in front of cameras and naming us as a problem.

take macreddin village in aughrim for example sign post shot to shxt out side it .this is not good enough for a resort that is known world wide.

the gun club culture in ireland has a lot to answer for keeping the sport in the stone ages.grand to keep it a closed shop but that does noting to promote the sport.
look at any other small country in Europe hunting is well up on all the lists.

the use of the word weapon by the police should have being hopped on at every chance ,a weapon is a object to kill or get the upper hand of a opponent .so wtf do the nargc, icpsa, ica, ifa ,etc allow it to be used.

our leader ship is poor to say the least ,there full of there own self importance and worried about there own agendas

Completley agree with the above and its not just the poilce that are calling them "weapons". Court rooms are now using that word (in cases of shooters challenging firearms refusal) as well as shooters !

DEFINATLY.... so true that it disgusts me ! IMO when the new firearms act came in and the ban on pistols was announced every organisation seemed to scatter away.

We needed a new act, the pervious act kept shooting in Ireland firmly in the stone age. however what we got was a half assed attempt that has left many shooters now being dragged thorugh the courts because we as shooters didnt stand together.

this sounds familair!!!:D Great minds in Mayo for sure!! Change the name to the cammo party!!! and go with a few populist policies like banker hunting (politicians (FF only, let the other lot f**k it up first before they get their own open season!!!), or former FAS chairmen), with horses hounds, 4x4 in fact anything at all they are fair game!!!:D

in the news this week a girl was sacked for selling a cheese burger for the price of a ham burger in a multi national burger chain and the top man in FAS gets his contracted finished early for fooking us for millions and gets a package plus a million euro to boot.

your in the click or not, hunting/shooting sports is not.
