    I've a weird one.

I went to see Coil live in Dublin city hall in 03. A month later John Balance died and they were no more. It was their last concert.

When I went to see them, I didn't really know much of their music at all.

It absolutely blew me away and ever since I've become a massive fan.

So I wish I could see them again knowing their music. But sadly can't :( I can't even remember what they played as I didn't know any of it!

Good news though, it's coming out on their soon to be released live boxset. So at least I'll be even able to relive it in a small way!

Either of them tbh (and any of the other early lineups too, although around the time of the Use Your Illusions tour would have been perfect.)

+1 actually, cant believe I left them out!

I would have loved to have seen the 1980s versions of Slayer megadeth and metallica.

I was meant to go to Manchester 3 years ago to see Type O Negative and Paradise Lost (my favourite bands) but I couldn't find the tickets because the concerts was sold out and ticket touts were selling them at ridiculous prices... Now Type O Negative singer is dead, so I will never get to see them again :(

My Dying Bride & Hypocrisy and Maiden!

I always seem to miss them or the skip the area when they are touring :(

Would have loved to seen Dissection in the 90's though. Seen em in 2003 I think it was good gig but not the same line up :(

However, I have seen alot of concerts in my time. 35 now and my sister took me to my first gig at the wee age of 11! I have been lucky to see Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth as well as G n' R and Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam..all when they were just making it "big".

....I think Vivian is a crap guitarist, I've seen Leppard live 12 times and he has never gotten a solo right any of the times I've seen them.....

Curious, do you mean he plays badly or that he doesn't play it note for note?

First Gig I ever went to see was to see them at Slane with my younger brother. I dont know how my parents let us go up from Cork. First we definitely werent old enough. I cant remember where we stayed the night or how we got there. I partially relived the memories recently when Queen and Paul Rogers played in Dublin. TBH I thought it would be naff but it was amazing.

Like many others on this thread is has to be Pink Floyd with Queen as a distant second. The former for the music, the latter for Freddy Mercury.

With Pink Floyd I would even have loved to see Pulse in Earls Court. I don't think I could stomach Roger Waters' megalomania :)

Led Zeppelin ( How The West Was Won gigs)
    Original Guns n Roses
    Black Sabbath with Dio
Metallica ( will hopefully be able to make it if they come back to ireland again)
Bob Marley would of been fun

 You would have prefered to see Pulse era Floyd rather then say ... DSoTM or Animals era Floyd ???

God Dethroned (seeing as they are splitting up at the end of the year).
Type O Negative with Peter Steele (assuming they will even still exist).

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,934 ✭✭✭✭scudzilla

I was fortunate enough to go to my first gig in 85 so have seen all the great bands. Most memorable out of them has to be Metallica wit Cliff twice.

The only bands i've never seen and wished i had were

    AC/DC wit Bon Scott
Thin Lizzy wit Phil (Is there any other Lizzy??)
    Led Zeppelin
    Strangely enough, The Beatles!!

Ramones with Dee Dee (saw them with CJ on bass on the Brain Drain Tour)
    Genesis with Peter Gabriel
The Dickies (still haven't given up hope)
