Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has become very noticeable that Reina will come out to punch the ball, when the ball is in the air anywhere near Carragher or Skrtel.

So you're saying Liverpool deserve their lead?

They've been flat, uncreative, delivered poor final balls (goal aside) and Bolton have looked better.

Jeez, the defensiveness of Liverpool fans is hilarious. Must be the only club going that you can't criticise.

    Pffft!

Anyway Gerrard isn't doing a fat lot, the Greek Guy is doing okay good bail out on the line, Aquilani looks to be getting more into it. Lee is proving a bit of a nuisance, just got booked for a dive though.

Well spotted Ref. And well done for giving the yellow for diving.

Would love to see that happen to the bigger name divers in the leagfue as well, including any LFC players that did it..

Spell of pressure from Bolton now. Going a goal down has spurred them on.

Breaking News: Team in undeserving lead shocker

Even now Bolton are continuing to be the more inventive side.

You can tell confidence is at a premium, Liverpool need more players to show for the ball.

Yeah no need for him to do that, he was looking at the defender all the time waiting for the right time to dive, hate seeing it.

    Comical defending from Liverpool.

    How Bolton havn't scored I don't know.

    Bolton 25-1 for the win.

    Half time.

The lead is just about right on the balance of play, although Bolton came close when Lee had his shot cleared off of the line.

It has not been five star stuff, but the Liverpool team is working hard, and showing more spirit than it has in many games.

Gerrard has been the worst player on the pitch by a distance simply because he just seems not to have any interest unless the ball is played right to his feet.

Aquilani and Masch seem a decent fit in the centre, given that this is the first game that they have started together in the centre, at least to my memory anyway.

Kuyt has been tireless and has gotten the goal for us. Riera has been solid without being outstanding, but offers a nice balance when he is playing.

N'Gog has not had great service, but has shown that he can hold up the ball and lay it off well, and I hope some of his runs get spotted by the rest of his team, as he takes up so great positions.

The defence is being marshalled by Pepe and Kyriakos again, with the latter having a goal line clearance to his name. Skrtel and Carragher seem a bit unsure when Bolton come in from Liverpool's right side though.

Simple fact is Bolton were not able to take their chance when it came along, and Liverpool were. So on that basis the team in the lead is the one that deserves to be.

If Bolton score two in the second half and Liverpool score none, then Bolton can be said to have deserved it. If Bolton do not manage to score, then they will have gotten what they deserved from the game.

Great to have Riera back. Wish he had a better striker up front though.

NO! Rafa is still a tactical scaredy cat I'm sad to say.

    (Spurs have just scored)

Wish rafa would sub Pacheco on for Dave. We need a bit more creativity up front

Nope, but I hope it does not mean that we get more defensive for the last 20 minutes or so.

Jesus we haven't been terrible... fair enough the first half was pretty even, bolton probably edging it but we've had some decent opportunities in the second half and have played some good stuff

hopefully Pacheco will get 10 mins or so

Just saw the update there. 2-0 to the Pool. Good 3 points for Pool fans now, but how is the overall performance?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Its ****-e, undeserved, appalling (or okay depending on who you wish to believe)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,450 ✭✭✭jebidiah

would like to see babel for a few mins up front. ngog is playing well, but a bit of fresh pace up there just to run the defenders would be nice

Come off it. We are at home to bolton and we cant muster a shot on goal. We have imporved since the second goal though.

You can say it all you like. But it is hard to argue how a team that is now two goals down deserves anything when they could not score themselves.

I have been just as critical in that sense against Liverpool in the past, when Liverpool have lost games and people claimed they did not deserve to lose.

Funny how two goals went in when no shots hit the target. :p

You know what lads, right now I will take three points and a few goals over playing well but losing, and listening to excuses for losing.
