    Hi all,
Im thinking of installing a new solid fuel stove in my house.i was just wondering if i can tie it into my heating system even though i have underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs.someone told me i couldnt because i cant control the heat in the fire and the underfloor needs to be controlled.
    Thanks

Pretty much any heat source can provide heat for underfloor, when cases of to much heat 70 / 80 degree a 3 way blending valve must be fitted from heat source to underfloor.

A blending valve mixes both flow and return, once set to required temp blending valve will only allow that temperature to pass, in your case to underfloor, any heat left over is sent back through the return.

Anything is possible, all depends on how your existing heating system is set up, might be a big job to re pipe heating to suit blending valve, stove is open vented, heating possibly sealed? When slotting underfloor into stove circuit, both systems are combined so their is some work to avoid problems when combining systems.

The cost of installing a system like you mention may cost more than benefit experienced, then again it might not cost to much.
