Hi all.....had previously posted re a puppy and l got over 40 replies  for which l am very grateful. We decided to go down the rescue route after all. Just a question....I have called/emailed some rescues and filled in an application form for another.....here's the crunch.....nobody has replied!

I was just wondering how long it takes for the rescue to get in touch or if they only do so, when they have a suitable dog/puppy?

    Once again.....thanks!

    We got two from here:

Some of the animals are in rescue centers and some are just looking for new homes while with existing owners.
    We got lucky twice :)
Adopted one from a nice lady and one from a Rescue. One of them was still a pup. I used to check the website every morning and night.

Don't give up just yet! When we were searching for our last rescue dog I found it useful to follow up on an email with a phone call. I think sometimes that the rescues are so busy with the animals, that sometimes emails get overlooked. Maybe if any of the rescues are near your house you could try to arrange to visit?

you could always pop into the cspca by mahon point, as far as I know they have an open door policy.
They put down the dogs as far as I know, so you could be saving one from the grim reaper.

I'd definitely try phoning them, or just dropping in. Post (usually bills probably at a rescue centre!) and emails probably end up at the bottom of the priority list.
