I'm on the verge of doing the one in Sheffield, so here's some information I have:

Check the requirements for the one in Maynooth. From reading their blurb, it is aimed at senior management in an educational institution. That's me ruled out. :)

The Sheffield one will not be running in Dublin this year, however, they have a number of other programmes that run in the exact same structure (i.e. weekend schools). So instead of travelling to Dublin, you will have to travel to Sheffield for a weekend. They will be running from September this year.

I ruled out the TCD and St. Pat's courses for some reason. Can't remember now. :)

    Hope that helps somewhat.

I would also be interested in this. Is the Ed.D held in the same regard as the Ph.D?

Have gone with TCD in the end and will start in September. Anybody in the same boat?

Out of interest, did you do the M.Ed. programme? I'm starting it in TCD in Sept and I'm wondering what the subjects are like? Also are you doing the D.Ed. or structured PhD, as I'd be interested in moving onto that when I finish the masters! Your thoughts are welcome :D

Hello, no I did my MA in TESOL at the University of Birmingham so no prior experience with TCD. I am doing the structured PhD (part-time) which means a lot of Skype meetings/emails with my supervisor and research lectures held once a month in TCD which I can attend but not required to.
