I see you failed to acknowledge that I stated at the bottom of my post that I knew nor you or anyone was condoning any form of abuse but yet you continue to bicker about things.
As I said if something on the Internet upsets you [clearly this has] you really should think about not going on the internet. If you allow people you've never met to upset you, then you probably need some sort of help.
Don't take it all too serious. Relax, unwind, chill out.

Fair point, I missed you apology, apology accepted.

You said something about me that upset me, yes. I'd be surprised if you or anyone else would not be upset in the same situation.

This is not the way you conduct an argument. You're new here and it's a heated place - you yourself have made some very emotive posts on this thread. Trying to backtrack by saying "it's the internet" or "it's not that serious", is not really the solution. YOU are responsible for what you say here just as in real life, not boards.ie. It's made perfectly clear in the T&C.

If you wish to debate the legal issue at hand, continue. If not, at least be adult enough to stop making condescending remarks about who should or should not use the forum.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Firstly, I never apologised to you or anyone here.

Let me show you a thing or two about the Internet.

    Read this following statement.

"The leader of Boards.ie is a murderer"*. * Demonstration purposes only.

You will say to me that is libelous [assuming that he isn't a murderer, which he may or may not be but that is irrelevent here].

I will say to you and the leader of Boards.ie to either shut the **** up or sue me.

What options have you and the leader of Boards.ie got?
You can't sue an anonymous person. But wait, I hear you cry, yes we can identify you by your IP {internet protocol}.

I say go ahead. You spend ages tracking my IP, only to find out that it belongs to a Superintendent of the Gardai.

What do you do now? You file false charges against a superintendent who has never been on boards .ie.

What happens then is you and the leader of boards.ie get a lawsuit slapped against you for libelous conduct.

Unknownst to all, AtariBaby has hacked a wifi signal belonging to the superintendant and thus it is his IP that you have. Or the IP may lead you to a cyber cafe.

Ickyy Poo2 never ever take the internet serious. Never let it upset you.
They are only 3 laws on the internet. The following are legally prohibited on the Internet.
    1. Sexual abuse images of children
    2. Fraud
    3. Terrorism on a global scale.

If you go into any thread and you feel that someone is going out of their way to upset you or offend you, its best to just leave the thread or report it to the administration of the boards. Don't get upset or caught up in it.
Its just the internet. Its full of good people and **** alike.

I know you would never condone any form of abuse, but I'm not apologising to you, nor have I.

So you were here to relax and started a thread about child abuse. Nice. Regarding the legal issue, you may be right, boards.ie can fight that one. I'm still saying you could stand to be a bit more respectful.

As we're no longer discussing the issue you brought up in the first place, I assume we're done here. See yah round!

I think you should take a spoonful of your own medicine. Also I'm not convinced paedophilia is on the rise as much as the assaults are now being reported.

Its because of people like you and the other guy that I hate debating in forums. You are the type of people that come into a thread spout your own nonsense and worthless opinions without even researching what you are talking about. What you and a few others are doing here is the following..."You're wrong and I'm right, I don't have to research anything because my opinion is always correct and I'm never wrong". Ok, prepared to be proved wrong.

    Sexual assault is rape.

No you have it backwards. This is very basic logic, all rape is sexual assault. This does not imply that all sexual assault is rape

    Here are the facts:

Legal definitions: Common Law rape is defined in section 1 of the Criminal Law (Rape) Act, 1981(as amended). It provides that a man commits rape if he has sexual intercourse with a woman who does not consent, and at the time he either knows that she does not consent or is reckless as to whether or not she consents. Section 4 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act 1990 defines a second category of rape as a sexual assault, which includes penetration (however slight) of the anus or mouth by the penis, or penetration (however slight) of the vagina by an object held or manipulated by another person. This second offence is known as 'section 4 rape'. Common Law rape is gender specific and can only be perpetrated by a man against a woman. Although a woman may be found guilty of common law rape as an accessory; that is where she has assisted a man in perpetrating a rape. Section 4 rape, on the other hand, is gender neutral and can, therefore, be perpetrated by a woman or a man upon either a woman or a man. The maximum penalty for both types of rape is life imprisonment.

PT 1. Children can not consent.
PT 2. Sexual assault is rape. Where did you get the idea that sexual assault was not rape. And before you say its a lesser crime, please show me where exactly it states that. Its not a lesser crime, its a different catergory, not a lesser crime as you've stated.
Any form of sexual assault is rape when no consent is expressed. Children cannot consent.

Sexual assault is an act of physical, psychological and emotional violation, in the form of a sexual act, which is inflicted on someone without consent. It can involve forcing or manipulating someone to witness or participate in any sexual acts, apart from penetration of the mouth with the penis, the penetration of anus or vagina (however slight) with any object or the penis, which is rape.

Legal Definition: Sexual Assaults; sections 2 and 3 of the criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act, 1990 provide for the offences of aggravated sexual assault and sexual assault. Aggravated sexual assault means a sexual assault involving serious violence or the threat of serious violence, or a sexual assault that causes injury, humiliation or degradation of a grave nature. This offence also carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

Well done on finding the facts, but you're interpreting them completely incorrectly. The law states that while rape (penetration orally, anally or vaginally with body parts or objects) is a sexual assault, there are other sexual offences that are not rape.

" Aggravated sexual assault means a sexual assault involving serious violence or the threat of serious violence, or a sexual assault that causes injury, humiliation or degradation of a grave nature.

The above is not rape. In the 2nd two cases you linked to it was sexual assault and not rape that the men were convicted of, and that is why they got lesser sentences. It was nothing to do with the ages of the victims.

In case you want to reply that I'm wrong on all of this then I suggest that you get in touch with the Rape Crisis Centre in Co Sligo. All information present is from their database. But sure then, their facts don't count its all about you and your opinion.

Now you're just being inflammatory. Why is my opinion worth less than yours?

Are you really a moderator of this site?
What do you think of my latest offering:

Surely as a moderator, you should be clamping down on anonymous people requesting money from kids in order to show them porn, yes? Never mind debating in threads standing up for your friends.
    Confused, read my thread.

    1) I think your latest offering is a crock of paranoid crap. Boards.ie is a fairly well known website with a good bit of media coverage, it's no secret who the founders and admins of boards are. They are not "anonymous"

2)I don't know Ikky Poo2. Just because we agree with each other on one particular thread doesn't mean I'm "standing up for my friends". (No Offenc Ikky Poo2, I'm sure you're lovely :pac:)

3)I moderate Clearasil and Hormones, Junior Cert and Leaving Cert, forums specifically aimed at younger users (13-25ish) so yes I have an interest in ensuring no porn or inappropriate material is posted. Is sex discussed? Of course it is, as it's relevent to the forum (C&H).

    @Overheal: yay thanks, it's she though ;)

It's ok, it happens all the time. I'm delightfully feminine, it just doesn't translate too well onto the internet!
