Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you want to back up the entire contents of the disk you might be best off schedluing a ghost imge every day/week. Otherwise keep your personal data in a separate area and use synching software to back it up. I don't know the name of any in windows unfortunately.

Synctoy - a free app from MS which should do the job nicely

what you need is SyncToy for file-backups. i don't think it schedules back-ups but it's easy to use. all you need to do is enter the folder where your stuff is on the LEFT folder and the External Hard Drive on the RIGHT folder and set action to contribute. SyncToy will copy contents from LEFT to RIGHT, but will not delete anything. if the contents are already there, it doesn't copy them over, and any files renamed on the LEFT will also be renamed on the RIGHT folder.

SyncBack is far better than SyncToy.

Allway Sync is the one I use & it has the ability to schedule too.

I used to use it, I also used to use SyncToy.

    SyncBack is the better tool

    Your automated Sync options are:

    1. When removable device is connected

    2. Through a specified period

    3. When first changes are detected

    4. When computer is idle

    5. On application start

    6. Before you log out

    7. Use Windows Task Scheduler

These are all available under the Job<Properties<Default Profile section & can be configured separately for each individual job.

    Thanks Gadgetman!

Just did it there as per your instructions - I scheduled it through the task scheduler - such piece of mind!

    Thanks again all!
