Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

Can anybody recommend an online rtw ticket specialist. I got a quote from trailfinders of 2k for the following

London-bangkok-darwin- overland to melbourne-christchurch-overland-auckland-santiago-overland- Rio then back to London

Iam trying to figure out if independent flights would work out any cheaper, although i dont think so considering the 3 main longhall flights.

    Any thoughts much appreciated

    Thanks

You can book round the world tickets online directly from the Oneworld alliance website, we booked with these for our honeymoon after months of research, this was the only way I found of booking them independently on the web.

I don't think we saved much money booking directly, maybe a hundred pounds or so per ticket? (Make sure that you book your ticket in sterling also, it was a decent bit cheaper for us!). But they have an excellent interactive map which shows you all the possible combination of flights, which is great for getting ideas on where to go.

2k sounds about right, adding in South America always puts it up a bit. I did half of mine on a half rtw ticket, and half just booked as I went, and it came to the same.
I agree with the sterling suggestion, try to ride that wave while we still can.

I booked London > LA > Tahiti > NZ north > NZ south > Sydney > Hong Kong > London with www.roundtheworldflights.com and it cost me in total around €1350 which is a pretty amazing deal!
