Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ive recorded straight from VHS onto VOB format using Windows Media. Now I need to convert the VOB into something I can mess around with such as WMV or AVI, can anybody suggest a converter to me?

Maybe I should restart this thread without starting a new one.
Winavi could be the thing but I should give more detail first I think.

I have an old VCR set up and its output is plugged into an RF IN port (simple old style aerial socket) on the back of my PC. I found Windows Media Centre recognised the incoming signal as a tv one and I recorded my wedding video in to WMC breaking it up into 5 different recordings as I went along. Those recordings were saved in VOB format by windows. Thats where I am now, is there a better way to digitize the VCR signal or is VOB a good enough system to kick off from?

What I plan to do is create a newer wedding vid cutting out a few cringe clips, using Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

I've used FormatFactory 2.2 for converting between various formats and it seems to work well (though maybe a little slow). Have not tried VOB files other than directly from a DVD. Its freeware and seems to be malware free. Find it at www.pcfreetime.com.
