Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Noono has the Photo of the Week for this excellent image.

Well seen, framed & great use of depth of field. Stunning.

wow, cool. My first (and probably last POTW). Cheers. Anyway, the story behind the photo. I actually shot (not literally of course!) the birds from inside my parents kitchen over Christmas. I probably should have went outside but it was about -5 degrees out. There was a bird feed (bought from Lidl) hanging on the clothesline (out of shot), so there was a flock of birds about. I got the 400mm 2.8 out (with a monopod) and started snapping away at the birds eating the feed. Doesn't make a great shot cos the bird feed has green wrapping, just stands out too much. Anyway i noticed a small gathering of smaller birds (sorry i have no idea what breed they are) just down from where the bird feed was. I probably only got two frames before they dispersed.
The lesson here is you can get great wildlife shots without ever having to leave your kitchen :)

    Thanks again,

    Cathal
