Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No idea to be honest, I don't know what their age policy is.

I know if you get there early enough and get into the main bar on the street level, you don't have to pay into the niteclub downstairs.

    I'm gonna suggest:

    Captiol (again)
    Shine (upstairs is there?)
Place beside Whelans that escapes my mind right now...
    Diceys...? (too loud/full etc maybe
    MacTurcaills (a new beers spot?)
    Messrs
The Church (successful random beers held there before many times)
The Woolshed (nice and spacious, Fri is Karaoke night i think)
its 2 weeks away and a mental weekend for lovebirds! :D
And a welcome cure for lots of people not getting any hehe:D

Nooo, that's where I'm having my Valentine's night out, so ye're all banned from showing up there, I'm printing off the know your loungers thread and giving it to the doormen.

Seriously, the Church is nice. Very spacious.

Okay people. if you need to chat or whatever, please take it to the off-topic threads.

It's very difficult to read through a lot of off topic posts to see if someone has made a good suggestion, and it's very offputting for anyone new who may want to show up but thinks it's just a beers for mates.

So please, if you could keep this thread on topic, that would be great.

Im not too up on my drink promo's but If anyone knows of any places with them then they should be first choice.

Other than that I think of those mentioned The Mercantile,Turks head, Bleeding Horse would be the best. I love Whelans, Sin E etc but there isn't many seats in them and for a boards beer its nice when theres a big section everyone can sit in.

Hope to meet lots of new people!

Meet up with someone before the beers (everyone does it)... I did it with Pikachucheeks for my 1st time and last week I met up with Whoopsadaisydoodles, then we headed for the beers.

    PM someone..... They'll help ya.

Edit: Just realised what I wrote:

    Heh heh....

Yeah, there's no dance floor but I think it would be a better place to mingle and get to talk to people.

There's a good cocktail menu (not as fancy as Capitol) and all pints are €3.50 and a selection shooters are €2.50

    I'd recommend the 747. ;)

@ Fago - I know how to get places I just have never been in them :D

Can we reserve a space there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,954 ✭✭✭✭Larianne

I'm sure you can. When I was there last Friday there was several areas reserved. One being for the Dept. of Health. Was funny when you looked at the amount of unhealthy drinking that was going on! :D

I thought Jules rang up and was waiting to here back from them?
