Hey guys just looking for some advice quickly.

Me and my missus are attending our first tottenham game on saturday at WHL :) we are flying into stanstead on fri nite and back to dublin on sun evenin but are totally overwhelmed with our options for accommodation. We would like to be close for the game but in reality its a weekend away so we'd like to do some shopping and other touristy things. Can anyone advance some *nice* budget accom (both students) preferably at least handy to a tube stop for us? sorry if im askin the impossible or missed this info in the stickys.

    Cheers in advance

anywhere around liverpool street should suit you - stanstead express and over ground train to the lane both go from liverpool street. couldn't tell you what will be cheap from there but stick to a tube station and you wont go wrong

I do stay in the St Giles Hotel, very central for nightlife and sight seeing etc, and reasonable enough too. Check it out. The lads might be able to give you something better mind you.

cheers lads which borough is liverpool st station in? we were hoping to get a nice double room for about 200GDP or less..... st giles looks cracker but might be a bit out of our price range (at 300 for the two nights) :(

Travel Lodge at Liverpool Street. From £128 for 2 nights, Double Room.

    http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/rooms_rates.php?hotel_id=44&from=list

Alternatively, you could stay at another of their hotels in Covent Garden from £187

Personally I'd go with the cheaper option as The West End and other Tourist things are only a 10 min tube ride away. Simples.

I hope Defoe brings his shooting boots this is must win we really have to get three points and should of gotten three at villa earlier in the season so time to make amends

Yeah this is a big one (aren't they all!). We really need to get the three points to keep Villa behind us. I have a feeling that Everton will snag a point in Anfield on Saturday too so it would really help our cause to get the win.

Modric, Wilson and King to come in for Bassong Jenas and Niko, thats just my prediction. Huge game, have a feeling we will sneak it 2-1.

think we must win here to shake off that bottler tag.

praying for a win...think it will be a draw...tough game but we'll have confidence with so many clean sheets in recent time...common the spurs...defoe to get two

This one we have to win and in my opinion will win. We were by far and away better than them at Villa Park. They will be ultra defensive but if we get an early goal and they have to come out we could win this handy, 3-0 to the Spurs :)

Great chance for Modric, weak effort into keepers hands.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭mickger844posts

Another Modric chance curled over the crossbar from outside the penalty area.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭mickger844posts

Decent Bentley shot about a yard wide of the post.

King header from edge of six yard box straight into keepers hands, well on top now.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭mickger844posts

Great chance for Crouch but Freidel saves on the edge of the six yard box. Best chance of the game so far.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭mickger844posts

Thunderbolt effort from Huddlestone but Frieidel saves and the rebound falls to Modric but his effort is half blocked and out for a corner.

Great double save from Gomes, lucky to have escaped there.

Whats the bets Villa nick one on a break..

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭mickger844posts

Freidel saves from a great flick on by King and Defoe puts it over the crossbar with the follow up from one yard, how we are not winning here is beyond me.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭mickger844posts

Half Time 0-0 how its that i just don't know. Totally dominated them in the first half, only thing we are missing is the goal, hopefully that will come early in the second half and we go on to win 2 or 3 :)

Can't get to watch the game...but reading this thread it seems we're going through the same frustrations as usual when it comes to games we should be winning

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Never seen crouch win so many headers in a match

Thats exactly the way the game is going, playing well but not getting the goals that play warrants, very frustrating but hopefully we get the break through early in the second half.
