I am in favour of another cinema complex to give more competition around the city.
However If they do grant it, then it would be hypocritical from the City Planners as they the denied/object to the one before by another developer during the boom times in a similar location.

The developer is also planning to construct a cinema, which was given planning permission by Limerick County Council, before the boundary extension brought Coonagh to within the city bounds earlier this year.

    and then in 2009

Earlier this year, a major expansion to the centre, which it was claimed would have brought 1,000 jobs in retail and construction, was turned down because Limerick City Council had adopted a strategy of granting permission only in the city centre.

However, just weeks after this, permission was granted for two drive-thru restaurants at Coonagh, but work has still not started on either development. Now, Mayor Kevin Kiely has revealed that a strategy is due out in the coming weeks which would effectively rule out any more out-of-town development.
"Coonagh is now out of Town" and yet they wanted the Expansion of the City bounds to encompass within the city bounds and successfully got that too. Now they want Raheen/Dooradoyle/Castletroy to be within the city bounds.

People wonders why I do not want to be part of the City, if they are going to choke any development in our areas.

When the County Council were in charge they blocked Lidi from building near tesco but the City Council gave them the go ahead at the Davin Arms site. Now the City Council are changing things again,is it because the know that the Opera Site will not happen soon.We need a Cinema at this side of town and we should lobby the local TDs to get it done.
