What a dreadful line out, Italian line out had been exceptionally poor. Good try by O Leary

That move before the line out deserved a try, great hands!

Italian try  Too slow claiming it and clearing the ball

23-8 HT. I'll take that. Have to keep them scoreless in the 2nd half.

Kearney got unlucky. Look at your mans face when he blocks it, he can't believe his luck.

McLaughlin carrying well, lineout going well, ROG doing well and looking confident. Should get forty if we can win the breakdown in the second half. Hook is right about the ref too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,260 ✭✭✭Squiggle

RTE wánkers so desperate to take breaks it's hard to watch.

What did he say about him? Stuck with clueless French commentators here.

Marshall on BBC ****en on about hes not impressed with Ireland. 23-8 up ffs in a very disjointed and slow game, taken our chances and doing what we need to do.

Refs generally unfair to the Italians since they entered the six nations.

Just that the yellow card was wrong, and that hes being harsh on Italy, and is too fussy.

Shocking by Kearney, joke of a decision by the ref for the sin bin, nothing wrong with that tackle. TOL is having a magnificent game.

No disagree, he's absolutely right. This Italian team are, no disrespect, a clueless rabble. They've got nothing outside of 8. We, clearly, don't know what to do with them...The point Marshall was making was, if you listen to what he was saying, was that ireland are orders of magnitude better than Italy, thats bleedin' obvious and we should be looking to take them apart..it's what an AB team would do and its what we should do if we've any pretentions to really take a seat at the top table in rugby...We need to open this game up and back ourselves instead of giving away soft tries and daft penalties.

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭wixfjord

why was bergamasco taking that? Surely Mcclean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 540 ✭✭✭Catmologen

Bergamasco is kicking nicely, went close in the 1st half as well.

Weve done all we can ffs! Theyre shutting the game down every chance they get, and slowing everything. We had two tries and a big lead in the first half! I mean you dont have to be playing champagne rugby every game, and to criticise Ireland for that is imo crazy. They were never going to go out and throw the ball around and open up the game, international rugby does not work that way. Dont agree with that at all toome.

100% from ROG, that music they play after each score is god-awful. Hopefully they'll stop that in the new Landsdowne.

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭wixfjord

Definite forward pass. We should be looking to build phases more instead of kicking tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

Kearney not having his best game.

    This kicking is so annoying.

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭wixfjord

O Driscolls kicking is shocking! Always has been bad, one downfall in his game imo.

This ping pong kicking is ridiculous!

5 Italians line outs won, good work by Ireland.

I think the point which is being made is that we should be stamping ourselves on this game more. By all means ease ourselves into it, but there is a gap in class and we should show it, not be draged down (esp in these perfect conditions).

Now is the time we should be running it, and the comments he made are very apt now, but for the first half it was always going to be tight. Very poor game.
