I'm an exam-only student this year and i heard that I won't be able to get a J1 visa. I haven't applied yet so not sure, but has anyone else in my situation tried before, if so what was the outcome?

Are you a registered student with your university? If you go to the student desk/registry/admin place in your college will they stamp your j1 application form? If so, you're home free pretty much.

Yeah that's what i was thinkin.. I went on j1 couple of years ago and jus got one of my lecturers that i knew to sign it.. Then I got an email sayin i need the head of department to stamp it, but I never bothered and i got the visa couple of weeks later..
I can't imagine they would check with the college to make sure, cuz they have so many applicants.
