Oliver Queen has come to Sherwood to find a connection to his personal hero. Lara Croft is in Sherwood looking for Robin Hood's lost treasure. Unfortunately due to a slight misunderstanding she believes GA to be a criminal seeking the same treasure for himself.

Green Arrow has faced opponents that in a league above anything Lara has.

From a distance, Green Arrow could easily finish Lara. The closer it gets, the less advantage GA has with the bow.

But I'm going to say that he could deflect any bullets using his arrows.:P

If it gets to a hand-to-hand situation, I think that GA has the superior fighting skills.

The location greatly lends itself to GA. Perfect for camouflage and stealth trickery. Very few standing objects etc for Lara to do any impressive backflips off etc.

Lara's handguns are more of a close range weapon and don't have the accuracy for long distance work.

Depending on when the conflict starts GA will either slip away into the forest leaving Lara befuddled, or he'll just take her out from a distance.

Up close with hand-to-hand, Lara is probably more acrobatic but GA is an excellent fighter and I reckon he has the edge on Lara.

    GA Takes it.

Okay, Cyber's intro suggests to me that they've already clashed but someone has retreats. This being Sherwood Forest GA should be in his element, I can see him blending nicely into his surroundings waiting patiently for Lara to show her face again. GA will put an arrow into her back before she knows what has happened.

Green Arrow would enjoy his search of Sherwood . Always on the look out for trouble he would use the forest to his advantage after Lara first fires on him.
With the forest as perfect cover-up simple enough to fire nearly any of his multiple arrows (I'd pick an exploding one) to tale Lara out of the game.

This one goes to Green Arrow;)

As he enters McClane gets a radio transmission that a deranged lunatic dressed in the flag has entered the stadium intent on setting off the explosives planted there

Cap wins, McClane looks on with perplexement as his bullets do nothing to Cap's shield. Cap knocks him out with a swift turn and shield strike to the face.

Cap is just too good a fighter and knocks McClane down for good.

If caps brought several flunkies... I mean sidekicks with him John might stand a better chance. After all he's already got reason to be in the stadium so has probalby befriended the one that keeps things running and gotten plans for the vent system and every door access code for the back areas. John would have found the CTV room and if he figured out the time frame for the plant might have tried looking over the footage, if he didn't have time it would be the first place he would go after the radio message. Caps won't sneak through a vent, he'll search every place he can, knocking out brave cops and stadium security that are being fed misinformation by the "mastermind"

John's not one to sit around and watch things happen, he has to get in there and do something! A failled ambush attempt would bring both to close combat. John would do his best but would take a beating (as he always would). Caps would try to take him alive after he gave John a beating of a lifetime and realising John wouldn't take much more in the onesided close combat fight. He would win but realise his mistake, the bomb was still in the stadium, he had to find it and then find all the other bombs planted in the city. He has crippled an ally in the fight against evil and must take on the allies quest and save innocent lives.

Caps wins, only to find out it was a trap.

McClane is checking out the stadium when he struck by something.

"Oww!! WTF?? A shield?? Who the f*ck throws a shield??"

He then notices the thrower of the shield.

"Who are you?? Pyjama man?? Hahaha!!"

Cap then beats McClane until he is of a colour to match caps costume:eek::eek:

McClane has always relied on his quick wittedness to adapt to the situation of the moment. While he's physically in good shape and has police training and experience, he's hardly a match for a near "super-powered" hero. Add to that the vibranium shield. Captain America has more training, more experience and an indestructible weapon. McClane fires, Cap reacts. Shield cuts John McClane down. :(

    Captain America Wins.

    BATTLE 4

    LOCATION
    NYC Sewer System
    Sewers_detail_image.jpg
An undisclosed government agency has deemed Frank Castle too dangerous to be allowed to continue operating unchecked. G.I. Joe team member Snake Eyes has been dispatched to kill or capture him. Arriving at Castle's last known location Snake Eyes is temporarily blinded by a flash bomb boobytrap. As his vision clears he sees a trapdoor in the floor lying open. Upon investigation he discovers it leads into the sewer system of New York City.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

I reckon Frank has anticipated this and is well prepared. I think Frank has the sewers set up to the balls in traps. Snake Eyes can do all the fancy footwork he wants to avoid these traps but he will inevitably set one off. He'll lose a few limbs and will be easy pickings for the Punisher.

  • Moderators Posts: 51,840 ✭✭✭✭Delirium

SE jumps through the trapdoor and keeps low to the ground upon landing. He hears punisher in the distance and heads out in pursuit.

SE narrowly avoids gunfire from punisher, but it was only to distract him from the trip wire. One of the walls explodes into an assault of fire and rock.

As SE is recovering, Punisher makes for a quick attack. But SE is ready for him.

Punisher opens fire, but SE manages to avoid getting hit and gains some ground towards Punisher.

Punisher draws his combat knives and SE draws his swords. SE soon realises that Punisher chose this battle-ground as it would be a hinderance to the long blades on the swords.

SE ditches the swords and draws his knives.

The two battle with moves that are at times too quick for the human eye. Slowly SEs skill starts to make slow progress against Punisher.
SE connects with Punishers side and Punisher drops to his knees. But as SE moves for the killing blow, punisher has one last trick up his sleeve, a sonic grenade.

As SEs brain is momentarily turned to jelly, Punisher tears SEs head off.
He then throws it down the tunnel.

Perhaps under different circumstances Snake Eyes could have proven more than a match for Frank Castle, but The Punisher is far too savvy and used to this environment. Any encounters in this location would be fought on his terms and his terms alone. When the Punisher chooses to fight (as is the case here) he has meticulously studied a dossier on his opponent twice as long as his considerably lenghted genitalia. SnakeEyes is walking into a trap. No one could take Frank down there.

Snake Eyes knows his enemy and respects his abilities so he cautiously descends into the darkness of the city beneath the city. He is on the look out for traps so he slowly moves forward, disarming some minor sound and flash traps, designed to announce his arrival rather than cause any real damage. When the smoke clears from the detonation of the latest trap he sees the dark outline of Punisher standing in the dank underground hallway. The fight is waged with knives and sheer force.Seeming to last for hours. Dead Calm against Dead Crazy. Luck must fall to one, disaster to the other. End scenario - the body lying in the hall of the rank sewer is that of Snake Eyes as Punisher slips farther into the darknes...

In the end Dead Crazy wins- Punisher survives the day.

Snake Eyes uses a small mirror to get a first look inside the sewer. Seeing no imminent danger he slowly pops his head down, surveying the tunnel. With no signs of danger he does a forward flip. Still holding onto the trapdoor ledge, he is now hanging above the sewer floor. With physical control like an olympic gymnast he slowly extends his arms until his feet are inches above the water. He points his toes and enters the water with the minimal of noise. He moves cautiously and as stealthily as possible in the water. The sewage is too murky to see traps so Snake Eyes moves to the small ledge he was hoping to avoid.

He walks cautiously along, avoiding some tripwires connected to directional claymores. He pauses at an intersection where a large drainage pipe branches off from the main sewer. Snake Eyes pauses. He's spent most of his time looking for traps but he hasn't seen any sign of his prey. He uses an infrared torch in conjunction with a nightvision scope to look down the tunnel. The beam highlights a footprint in some thick sewage. Crouching ever so slightly Snake Eyes begins moving down the tunnel. When he reaches what appears to be a dead end he gets a bad feeling... this opponent had been toying with him for some time. Snake Eyes was used to infiltrating enemy territory and dealing with traps, but the sewer setting puts him on edge and he begins to wonder "were those traps too easy to find?"

He looks up and sees a manhole. He reaches up and tries to turn the handle. It moves a certain distance and then stops. Snake Eyes holds his breath. After a moment that seems an age he pops the manhole cover up slowly. It moves on a hinge but as it gets to a slight angle it meets resistance and stops, a slight push results in a click and no more movement. Snake Eyes drops to the ground expecting the ceiling to explode as a result of a trap, but as he falls in the drying mud he realises his mistake. An explosion from the debris at the end of the tunnel signals a world of hurt.

Hundreds of nails fly out of a small explosive device in every direction. Snake Eyes is peppered with three inch nails. His bullet proof jacket and armored points prevent any serious damage but soft points are embedded with nails. He slumps against the sidewall and then slowly slides to the ground. He takes a tactical multi-tool out of one of the many small pocket on his webbing. If he could speak he'd curse in pain as he pulls out the nails with pliers. Blood spurts out of puncture wounds where nails got too close to veins, but Snake Eyes applies a clotting spray and gauss. He's bloodied and every movement hurts.

He tries the manhole cover again but there's no give once it gets to the trigger angle. He jumps up and hits the manhole cover hard, but it's solid and the angle doesn't allow him to fit through. He attaches a small explosive to the hinge, moves further back down the tunnel and detonates by remote. Snake Eyes uses the mirror again and looks carefully at the room above. It's just an empty maintenance section with nothing but smaller pipes connecting with it, none large enough for a man. He pulls himself up, pain shooting through his arms from the many puncture wounds. He looks around the room and feels anger rise as he confirms his first observation: There's nowhere for The Punisher to go.

Back in the tunnel he looks at the boot marks... in hindsight they could have been made days before, probably when the trap was being set, or maybe they were part of the trap. He heads to the main sewer tunnel and wearily continues on his way. His determination is lessened but he shakes himself mentally and carries on. There's no way some lunatic is going to get the better of him.

He's avoiding tripwires but he doesn't even know if they're connected to anything, they could just be fishing line going into the sewers. He hears a noise up ahead and starts seeing debris in the tunnel... he reasons there must be a storm drain or some other sort of inflow. Soon he finds the source of the noise and the sewer gets deeper as a large pipe deposits a mixture of sewage and debris from the western district.

Snake Eyes steps over another tripwire, focusing on where he places his foot next. He stops just before he walks into a chest height wire. He's holding his breath, the sound of the running sewage the only noise. He ducks under the wire, releasing his breath. With the noise of the sewer he doesn't notice a pile of debris move slowly to one side as a dark figure moves slowly through the water. Snake Eyes hears a noise too late as he turns and gets knocked back against the way with the force of the shotgun buck. His armor has saved his life again but he's wounded. The Punisher grabs Snake Eyes and pulls him hard into the water before he recovers. A solid punch to the face and Snake Eyes' head snaps back and the Punisher pushes on his shoulders and suddenly thick brown water rushes into Snake Eyes' visor and mask. Snake Eyes is being held under water but his advanced military training kicks in on automatic. He reaches to his nearest combat knife and stabs in the general direction of the Punisher. He hits meat and the force on his shoulders is removed. Snake Eyes can't see anything and still in a dazed state rips off his face mask letting the rancid sewage air touch his badly scarred face.

Snake Eyes stares down the black clad figure moving towards him. The figure had black camo paint on his face and he held his left side. Looking at Snake Eyes face the Punisher only says "You're an ugly son of a bitch, even for a sewer." Snake Eyes tries to strike out with his combat knife but The Punisher manages to grab his wrist. They start to grapple but Snake Eyes doesn't have the muscle strength after the nail bomb ripped through parts of his tendons and soon Frank has the upper hand and forces Snake Eyes to drop the blade or break his wrist. The Punisher forces Snake Eyes back against the wall of the sewer but there's little damage as the water slows everything down. Snake Eyes uses the wall as a staging platform and launches an attack, getting an expertly planted fist into the Punisher's face which knocks him back, but the water slows down any combos and every move has to be carefully planned.

The Punisher has his hands under the water and suddenly jumps back onto the narrow walkway. Snake Eyes tries to move further down the tunnel in an attempt to get onto the walkway without having to face The Punisher while still disadvantaged by the water, but before he gets too far there's an explosion of water and he's knocked off his feet and under the water.

Everything is quiet for Snake Eyes, it's like he's floating in a dream. In perfect peace he realises The Punisher had everything perfectly planned. The constant traps to keep him focused knowing it would take a toll on his mental strength and knowing he'd get cocky, missing the trap in the dead end. The trap wouldn't kill him but would hurt like hell and slowly sap his strength. Fighting in the sewer water stopped Snake Eyes from using his superior speed and fighting skill. A ringing came to his ears and suddenly he was back in the world, his body now desperate for air. The bastard set off a grenade underwater knowing the blast would be more powerful in the water and shield him. Snake Eyes found his footing and gasped as he found air.

The oxygen just hit his blood supply as a knife was thrust through his wind pipe, obliterating his long inactive vocal chords. He heard the gurgling noise he made as he tried to breath, he grabbed his throat but in his mouth he could only taste blood and he began to black out as he drowned on his own blood. As he sunk beneath the water the last thing he saw was a white skull on a black background and he heard the words "No Mercy"

Most have expalined better than I could ever have, Snake Eyes is found floating in the Hudson several days later with a message, a message with a strange phrase and a fact. The fact? The Punisher is on his way to bring judgement to this undisclosed government agency.

Frank Castle has come hunting for arsonists on their favorite night of the year in The Motor City. He's planning to bag his limit. Unbeknownst to him Oliver Queen is in town to negotiate the purchase of the former Justice League headquarters in the city. As night falls and the city is engulfed in flames Ollie and Frank take to the streets to help, or hunt wherever possible. Due to a change in the direction of the wind the two find themselves trapped in a two-city block radius of each other. Upon sighting each other, each has the same thought.

First of all due to the location, I'm going to say Punisher isn't going to have hidden traps prepared. So, it's very much a case of fighters using what they're carrying.

GA has his selection of arrows, and the bow which can double up as a weapon if they get too close.

Punisher I'd think would have some hand guns, knives and probably explosives too.

My understanding is that GA doesn't kill, but would disable through serious wounding in a fight. However, quick draw of a gun will always beat quick draw on a bow.

the flight of a bullet would also be much faster than an arrow. Punisher would have his shot connect with GA and still have milliseconds to dodge the arrows.

Punisher has the weapons to beat GA, and the willingness to fight more viciously also.

I think if Green Arrow uses his surroundings he can win this fight. However, since Frank has already spotted him, GA can't really pick a position and wait for his opportunity to strike. Green Arrow will also be at a disadvantage because since it's a straight out fight, it will be tougher for him to pick out a non lethal shot on the Punisher. In short I think the Punisher has the callousness to swiftly do away with GA.

Since the two are trapped by burning buildings, leaves little place to hide. Green Arrow will try to hit Punisher but Punisher will avoid the arrows and take GA out of action with a bullet.

Punisher stands tall over his fallen foe. Meanwhile on a nearby rooftop a figure in greasepaint, with a black bird on his shoulder who has observed their battle has only one thing to say, "Nice to see I'm not the only one back from the dead tonight.

Okay, so we have to assume all of these characters are part of the same world. So, assuming this, Captain America would very much be in Batman's database of "How to defeat." Batman will know what buttons to push, specifically he'll know about Cap's disillusionment with his country right now.

Also, look at some of the foes Batman has defeated. He has bested the Killer Croc. He has bested Clayface. He has bested BANE. All of these foes who on paper should be too much for Batman but he has beaten all of them.

Batman's ability to win a fight simply knows no bounds.

I think the Labyrinth will suit Bats, while Cap is concerned with getting to the castle Bats will be stalking him. He'll make his presence clear to Cap who all the while won't be able to see him. Batman will be pushing Cap's buttons while he is frantically trying to locate Bats in order to shut him up, he has a booming voice so Cap will find it difficult to pinpoint Bat's location. Once he has Cap frantic enough, Bats will strike up close and disarm the shield from Cap, he will then throw it into some unknown part of the Labyrinth. So it's just another case of Bats against someone with mere super human strength. He's won those battles before and he'll win again. Batman FTW.

In a straight up fight Captain America would take Batman no contest. However, in the labyrinth things are slightly different. Cue two people wandering around a maze looking for each other. Batman would excell in such a situation, using some tracking gizmo to locate Captain America. He could then use this heads up to lay traps for Cap' and plan to fight him on his own terms. Or perhaps lure him into to the Minotaur (there's usually at least one in any good maze) to soften him up.
    Overall, Batman to win.
