UPC using Windows 7

Hi,

I'm about to get UPC but have heard from 1 person that they had difficulty getting their Windows 7 PC to work with it for some reason-they said XP was fine but Windows 7 did not work.

Has anyone else had this difficulty and is there anyone using windows & on upc that can confirm it is working?

No problems with windows 7 at all.

Windows 7 works fine with UPC, its most likely he had a problem trying to setup a wireless connection. Link to his post and read it.

EDIT: I thought you read it here in some thread, ask him what his problem was, it could be anything.

The OS should be irrelevant. What could be a problem is if his Ethernet or Wireless network adapter didn't work with Windows 7, then he wouldn't be able to connect. It has nothing to do with UPC though.

Could also be that he had incorrect settings in his network configuration.

No problems here on Win7, it's just an ip address and the OS is irrelevant.
Maybe his network adapter or wireless adapter was configured badly?

I had multi room installed the other day and the installer said that the firewall was causing some problems on windows 7.

Installed 7 a few days ago. Straight on, zero trouble!

works fine for me ... get the odd cannot connect to page message sometimes but could be just websites.

Sorry everyone - lots of issues here.

My Windows 7 laptop drops the wi-fi every minute. A friend's Windows 7 laptop of a different brand does the same. All other devices are perfect. List as follows -
2 x Windows 7 laptops - BAD
2 x Windows XP laptops - OK
1 x iPhone - OK
1 x PS3 - OK
1 x Sony Eircsson smartphone - OK

UPC say that as other devices work, then it must be the Windows 7 configuration. The work perfectly cabled by the way.

It's a real pain for us.
