Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How long could you wear it?

    Male fashion.

If you wanted to be trendy and up-todate, imagine you get an outfit or whatever from a High Street store such as Top Man or River Island, how long could you wear the outfit or item of clothing you got before it went ''out''.

Would it go by the season, meaning 3 months?

And another question I'm curious about. You paid €1,000 for a designer jacket. Could this be worn for years or what.

If anyone know's any good websites that give this type of information it would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on what style it is. For example a black suit will always be in fashion.

    Hya Green Gooner.
Mens fashions tend to change more slowly then womens so that something you buy now could well be worn in a few years time. Just take a look at how long the trend for hoodies has been running. Some fashions do trend to change a little quicker, like footwear or shirt patterns. A while back you couldn't find a shirt that wasn't stripped but now it's all about the checks. So trying to pin a time limit on a fashion trend is nigh on impossible.

As to the question about the jacket, well same thing. If you buy something that is very trendy, far from a classic look then it will have a short lifespan. However if you buy a jacket that has a classic cut and neuteral colouring it will last you a lifetime.

Rule of Thumb: Never buy expensive in the highstreet, never buy cheap in the gentlemans outfitters.

You could always mix and match...old + new... less noticeable

I agree that mens fashion changes slower!

I was wondering about that with the military jackets that are popular at the moment. Jackets in particular can be very expensive, so picking a very current trend could work out quite costly. Choose carefully!

Fashion and style are different things. Spend money on things that do not go out of fashion, for example; a crisp white shirt, black or grey suit, indigo denim jeans, pea coat, decent shoes or brogues, leather man bag.
After that, the fashionable things and accessories will be available every season for cheap enough - skinny jeans, check shirts etc.
