    I suppose you could count them as the same game since they could be connected into one, but they were also sold separately and at full price for each so they could be counted as standalone games.

    Then you could also throw Sonic CD into that too so you could say there were either 4 or 5 "proper" Sonic games. Doesn't matter a jot though really.

    As for that 3D Sonic and Knuckles, jesus that looks sexy as hell.

    Sega need to hire the lad that made that! Someone who knows what they're ****ing doing!

It was animated over an actual gameplay video of S&K that I recorded. It was designed as a graphical demo to see how well classic Sonic gameplay and level design would adapt to 2.5D.

    This was made over the course of about 2-3 weeks from scratch inbetween other work (excluding render times, which were fairly short anyway).

    Created with 3DS Max and composited in Adobe After Effects.

    Thanks to everyone for the feedback! (both positive and negative, it's all useful). More views than any Sonic 4 related video on Youtube after only 4 days (including those on the official Sega channel).....

    Played the demo for Sonic 4 yesterday, and to be honest, I'm not too impressed. I don't know what exactly is missing from it, but something just ain't grabbing me the way the old ones do.

    sonic 3 and knuckles 3d isnt a game though, its an animation. i.e pre rendered and unplayable.
