Can anyone reccommend a food safe epoxy or paint that would be fairly easily bought in Ireland?

Do you mind me asking what you need it for?

Could you be a bit more specific on the intended use?

Epoxy resins are not 'easily bought' in Ireland in my experience, I usually import mine.

    hi
well I need it to mend a large and decrepit old water tank .It is outdors and contains cold water only.
I have in the past repaired the holes with epoxy resin but I don't feel too confident that that is suitable for water that I will also end up drinking , even if after boiling.
As a result I more often repair the holes with a nut, washer and bolt.
Sometimes ,though it would be convenient to be able to use a sealant and I understand that some sealants are considered to be food safe , or,differently, non toxic.
If I go to my local hardware store , though, they don't seem to stock anything like that.
I understand that there is something called plumbers epoxy which is supposed to be safe and also that marine suppliers also can stock products that can be used on drinking water tanks.

Devcon do a food safe epoxy, but it fairly specialised:

Could cure it with a heat gun I suspect.

Some Devcon products are manufactured in Shannon.

I have some system Three resin I purchased from a distributor in Scotland.

Have you considered food grade silicone sealants? Those should be fairly easy to get hold of.
