Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This particular thread of Random Photos is probably coming to a close soon but I would just like to say that it has, for me, produced by far and away the most outstanding photo I have seen since I joined(and even when I was a lurker).

So thanks to ThOnda for that.

This, of course, is a personal opinion -and others no doubt have their favourites too.

I looked through his posts since end of January and still cannot find it. If anyone knows the official name for it, I could find a tutorial on youtube.

They're called Panospheres, you shoot a 360 degree panorama, stitch it together and apply a polar coordinates filter in photoshop:)

thanks! it's a glass fron a welding mask. provides about a 10-stop difference. i was happy with this except its not very sharp as it was so windy

It's a filter in Photoshop called Polar Coordinates. Found in the Distort menu. Like everything in photoshop, there's always more than way to do things. Here's a linky showing one way.

Maybe with the 2nd one - crop to eliminate the guy in the background and give a bit more contrast
