    I think it's a valid reason.

    if they
    - read tabloid newspapers
    - read trashy magazines
    - diss books
    - can't treat DVDs and CDs with respect
    - diss vinyl
    - complain about subtitles or black and white films
    - look down on public transport

People who use the word 'diss' and are serious.

Shallow as it sounds, hair colour is important!!! :o

If her taste in music doesn't go beyond the x-factor and the charts then I won't be too impressed. If she's a smoker that'll be the end of that.

Oh! Music. I don't like when people aren't especially into music.

Ok - someone who disparages reading and disrespects vinyl.

That really makes a difference to the points I raised, doesn't it?

No. These people are great. There is a clear difference. Provided they actually listen to all these different types of music.

    Yes.
People who come out with that line generally have rubbish tastes and / or just can't be bothered making an effort to answer the question properly.

What's even worse are the ones who add "except [insert genre]" and haven't a f*cking clue once you quiz them about the category they claim to hate.

of course theyre not gonna have a clue about the category they claim to hate, why would you be quizzing someone on the one genre they dont?
I hate country western, I cannot name you one artist but every time I hear it drives me up the wall

People who eat with their mouth open.

    People who can't argue properly.

People who talk through their nose.

    People who do not listen.

People who moan all the time (yes, I am aware of the irony of saying that in the middle of a rant)

People who talk about themselves incessantly

and there are lots lots more (I'm a picky bastard)

Smokers/smokers breath - I feel queasy just thinking about it :(

People who are so insecure they feel the need to put others down, make fun of others just so they can feel better about themselves.

People who need to be the centre of attention ALL the time and talk about themselves incessantly.

    Boasters.

Cocky people and as someone mentioned earlier this is becoming more and more common amongst women for some reason, it's not a nice trait in either sex.

People who can't handle that people have different tastes 'You watch Eastenders/you read Heat??? Oh my God how can you do that, it's so bad/trashy etc' If we all had the same tastes how boring would life be :)

I hate cocky men, I hate being around them etc. But I like it in a woman as I absolutely hate women who talk about how much they ate in one day and fish for compliments. In fact when a woman refers to themself as pretty or "strong" I love it.

I agree with the second one there - I hate the snobbery towards pop culture/music/celebrities. Being condescending towards reality TV/pop music is just as vacuous as liking it. Next time I hear "oh my gawd Jedward are loike shish they represent everything wrong with loike society and music".

i have an automatic dislike to people who support man utd

Bahahah I need to watch all of the Hardy Bucks episodes. The guys accent is EXACTLY what I hate "moy ****in oiphone is deadd".

That reminds me hipsters turn me off. I knew a hipster girl who used to buy 2 different colours for every pair of shoes she bought so that she could wear two different colour shoes every day, here is what is wrong with that:

    1) Faux "quirky"
    2) Too annoyingly rich
    3) Hipster
    4) Who does that?! I mean come on!

Needless to say I died a little inside every time I saw the girl.

ARGH. This is infuriating. Derren Brown mentions it in his book and says something like "What aspects of your scizophrenia should I be finding particularly endearing?"
