I am wondering where the the 18 year olds and possibly older go out to socialise?

( This is not asking about under-age drinking at all )

Why has this been moved? I am asking people who are doing the Leaving Cert not college students or every tom dick and harry?

The Dublin forum is the most appropriate place to ask about pubs in Dublin.

I would probably have allowed the thread in the LC forum if you had not posted two previous threads there asking where someone underage would be served in Dublin.

In my view, this is simply a ploy to ascertain the same information while attempting to appear to toe the line.

That had nothing to do with being supplied with Alcohol. That wasn't mentioned at all in my posts.

First off all the Law states that a person who is 16 years and older can have Alcohol but only with food being supplied with it. So legally thats fine.

    no it's not
It is an offence to buy alcohol for people under the age of 18. It is also an offence to give alcohol to anyone under the age of 18 unless in a domestic home and they have parental consent..........If you are under 18, you cannot legally buy alcohol. Also you cannot drink it unless you are in a private residence and have permission from your parents. It is also an offence to pretend that you are over 18 in order to buy or drink alcohol.

Look up the section on " Children "

It states; " Children aged between 15-17 years may remain on the premises after 9pm where they are attending a private function at which a substantial meal is served. "

I still see no mention of legal drinking while under 18...

So you can't provide a link to where is states a 16 year old can DRINK ALCOHOL in a pub? Why? Because there isn't one.

... may remain on the premises after 9 p.m. where they are attending a private function at which a substantial meal is served.

In other words, a wedding or similar function.

"May remain on the premises" ... that's all!

NOT "a person who is 16 years and older can have Alcohol but only with food being supplied with it."

    Huge difference.

    Haha.

    Ooooh friend.

But yea..I know how you feel. I hated being underage. If you're just looking to go to pubs..just get someone older to get it for you..

Remember I used to drink in some ropey pubs in town when I was underage.

Certainly wouldn't frequent these places now that I know better.

Bloody gas as well, bunch of 16 year olds dressed up to the nines drinking in these pubs, looked wayyyyy out of place.
