Isn't the tradition that if the colours clash the home team changes?

Have to say though that Scotland have played decent rugby today. Played a little too much of it in their own half but they've showed ambition and if they'd finished some of those early chances...

Definitely think we can exploit Basteraud's inexperience next week. Grubber kicks and chips over the top for our wingers to run onto could be the order of the day.

The sound the french supporters are making is astonishing...not only are Scotland wearing their away strip (why?), they must feel like the away team given the numbers of french and the noise they're making....

Home team always changes strip, at least in international rugby.

Oh god, our scrum is going to be in serious trouble next week. Scotland are desperately missing Murray.

I was at this game two years ago, which was also played on the opening weekend. There was a massive french contingent there for that game, very loud and very colourful as well

Is it just me or could Harrynordokey (i know thats spelt wrong but you know what I mean) be called for going off his feet. He consistently goes to the back of a ruck and then kneels down. Is that not illegal?

Based on Ireland and French performance this weekend, predictions for next week?

I'll say it will be a close thing with Ireland getting the win.

Pretty awful stuff especially at the end. Scotland appeared rudderless and France should have put them to the sword. Incidentally, how come Dan Parks wasn't even in the squad - in my opinion he brings far more to the game than Godman? Hard to predict how it will go in Paris but I will backing Ireland although the home advantage to France will massive.

Yea, but what's the significance? He is SO visible....

Anyway, which front five would you bet on next week??

Yea, BUT, it will depend on the tight 5..... our two H's will be stretched more than they were yesterday and the didn't look all that great then.

I'd agree, promising first quarter, but died on it's arse after the half time break. France rarely left their comfort zone, while Scotland were industrious but totally toothless (honorable exception for Mr Lamont). They're still completely allergic to the tryline and have scored less tries than anyone since the advent of the 6N.

This France side can be beaten for sure, depends on there mental setting. Like us they have plenty of gears, the team that goes through them quickest will win, hopefully that will be us.

It actually took effort for Scotland not to score from some of those breaks they made. On the plus side, they were making serious strides through the French midfield at times and Ireland will take far better advantage of it if they get through like that.

Just back from this game, Scotland were shocking bar some moves off from setpieces but in open play they were going left to right. The amount of times we counted 5 forwards standing in the line and killing any momentum. The amount of overlaps France had but never used was ridiculous also.

Thought it was a great performance by Beattie pretty much a one man show in the forwards. Godman is dire as well nowhere near International standard.

To be completely honest it looked almost 50-50, but that was because of free blue hats being given away for free. The noise the french made was unreal, the only noise the Scottish made was during a song at half time and clapping along with the bagpipes poor show really, singing both anthems was great though!

Yeah the French defence wasn't the best. A positive from the game.

Also what was up with those kamikaze tackles from Rougerie? Messed up my fantasy 6 nations:mad:

Scotland are one of the lowest scoring international teams around. Tries that is.

Even teams like Russia and Portugal would score more because they play teams of their own level...

It's genuinely ludicrous how bad they've become in ten years. Not to mention sad.

Pretty much exactly what I was expecting. France were in third gear for most of the game.

I dont think we're any wiser after the first round of games
