Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I realised last night, that eyeshadow just doesnt suit me at all! But when your going on a night out, you need to look dressed up. How can i make myself look more done up wthout eyeshadow? Considering I'd wear mascara and eyeliner on a daily basis anyway?

Would you consider going darker on your lips? If you're eyes are left neutral, then you can afford to vamp it up on lips. Can look lovely

Choose either playing up your eyes or lips. Some people do both, each to their own but as a general rule of thumb, choose either one. If I want to leave my eyes natural enough looking, I tend to just put a neutral cream colour across them, some liquid liner, mascara and I'm done. Eyes are defined not overdone. Then I choose a darker colour for lips (there is one that suits you, just need to find it!). You won't look like a Goth, there's a happy medium there somewhere!

If I go the other way, play up eyes and actually just put the Vaseline Rose lip balm on.

Is it possible that you're maybe putting the wrong colours on your eyes? Or you're not sure how to put them on? If you want some help, you can PM me.

Maybe you are using the wrong colours and making your eyes look smaller or whatever that way? If you have a look on YouTube, there are loads of great videos about make up application.

You could try buying a few neutral shades, creams and browns and doing a really natural eye and then try something like red lips? I've read in magazines that orangey-red lipstick is in. I've tried it myself and thought it was quite nice.

Or you could perhaps skip the eye shadow and try liquid eye liner and do a nice winged eye, can look lovely imo.

Or if it's the dark eyeshadow you're using, maybe you're piling it on too thick?

Maybe try do a smoky eyed look and blend it a lot? It'll help neutralise the heaviness.

Or swap blackish tones for grey?

Why doesn't it suit you? Can you explain what you currently do as perhaps somewhere you are going wrong...

I'm the same really, eye shadow doesn't suit me at all. Think it's because I'm so fair. I've been experimenting (ha!) with gel eyeliner recently, looks really cool if you can figure out how to apply it right. I use a brownish shade.

try changing colours maybe? I have deep set eyes and am prone to dark circles so dark shadows just make it look worse I finally copped that a few weeks ago (it only took me years!) so instead now I use lighter colours and then just darker liner plus some darker colour smudges along the lash line and mascara and it looks better.

You could try a cream shadow in a lighter colour too I use revlons palet of 4 cream ones the gold and silver are lovely. I also got two loreal shadows the metallic ones one is gold and on a silvery metallic turquoise they were about 11 euro each but well worth it as they look great and last really well.

Your other option is to go for light shadow, a good liquid liner, mascara and then emphasise your lips think dita von teese or diane kruger

Play about with colours and textures and I bet you will find something that really suits you - remember the smoky eye is not for everyone.
