Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Warped Acoustic

My acoustic has more action than Tiger Woods.. I left it in my car for ages and the neck is warped to the point where it's pretty much unplayable. Is there anything that I can do to fix the warped neck. Bear in mind that it's not that expensive a guitar so I'm not gonna spend a lot of time or money on it.

Secondly if I just wanted to get rid of it, is it recyclable? Can I just bring it down to the local recycling centre and will I have to dispose of it as landfill?

Never through a guitar out, plenty of people will find a use for it no matter how much it is worth.

Yes it is probably fixable, generally all it needs is a tweek of the truss rod. Ill post a few links here for you.

EDIT: Here is a brief article http://www.guitarplayerscenter.com/blog/guitar-repairs-upgrades/guitar-setup-step-1-neck-evaluation-and-truss-rod-adjustment/

yeah as 68 says...you might get away with just tightening the truss rod .....go easy though ...

Secondly please don't put it in a landfill...Post on adverts.ie as a freebee and someone will take it off your hands...what make is it incidentally?

Or skip adverts and give it to me :P... Only half messing.

Pretty much all problems can be fixed, Ive spent the last few years learning bits and pieces about it and like to take old damaged guitars and make them playable again. Its fun and addictive when you get started.
