There are many threads on here asking about how long should we study, but surely the quality of the study is more important. So what way have you found best on staying focused and retaining the most. With/without music? Private/group? Just reading or notes aswell? Diet? ect?
    Post your methods!

Read->write->write from memory->Q's and move on. Few bannanas thrown in there too!

I think, being perfectly honest you are kidding yourself if you are studying with music. You are not 100% focused if you need music in the background. You retain much more from writing then just reading so write write write!

Well I know someone who got 550 points who study with music, but maybe she could be even more productive without it. I personally can't concentrate with songs in the background. (Although some article I read/dreamt I read said listening to soft music at a low volume doesn't affect productivity)

For subjects which requires learning such as Chemistry, I speed read through the chapters I'm studying, go to the exam papers and try to answer them. Most of the time, I do terrible at them for the first 2-3 years of the papers I use, so I just correct them using marking schemes. I try to understand the answers so I go back to the book/my notes sometimes. After that it slowly sinks in and after I'm done with the rest of the papers, I go back and learn the answers for the papers.

For exams that doesn't have a huge amount of theory, such as Maths and English, I just do the exam papers.

I'm not a big fan of answering questions in my textbook as a way to study. They generally have a different style of questions compared to the exam papers and there's a lot of time wasted on looking up the answer. Also if they're calculations, they don't have the method. Sometimes their answers are wrong and that makes you waste a lot of time trying to correct a perfect answer.

    Read and rhyme off things.

Maybe for you. Some people, including me and I study rather well, can find music helps a lot.

Apparently they did some study on whether you learn better with or without music, and the verdict is you're better off without. The music acts as a trigger for the memory, so when you're in a quite exam hall you obviously don't have that trigger so it's harder to remember.
And then there's the obvious point that it's distracting!

    Feckin' study... :(

    No Music.
    No TV.
Rewrite notes into a shorter more efficient form.
    Read over and over.
Always take breaks. (It just won't go in otherwise)
Limit your break times. (Those 15 minture breaks may last up to an hour)
    Have a clear desk.
    Have water.
    Try eat more fish.
    Exercise more regularly.
Try your best not to daydream.

    Be consistant. :)

I try to write everything out,
but sometimes it just doesn't work out. :(

    Too much info to learn.
Wish I had a photogenic memory.

    Haha I lol'd!

    Best way to study for me is;
    Lots of water.
    Clear-ish desk.
Have easy acess to notes and stuff.
    No music.
Phone off. (This one's the most difficult to be honest)

mmm the way i passed my lc is kinda funny still got 350 points :) 2x more than i needed for my course :) ...fluke maybe but i studied basicly the day before exam only...and most of it was going thru exam papers from internet with the answers on other tab :) listening to music...

most ppl say dont listen to music while studying...i cant study without it...if its off i just seem to get bored and start reading and repeat the same sentence for 100 times or read the whole thing and mind empty...i usualy put on some trance (hard trance better cause chill out one makes you sleepy :) ) or hard dance...something that is hard to keep you awake and has no words to keep you away from trying to sing the words in your head... thats the way i study...otherwise i dont at all :) i just keep looping same stuff in my head :)

Depends on the subject. How much you like it. How good you are at it.
