Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Guys Anyone seen any good kits where you have jumps leads, tow rope and possibly a warning triangle all together in a bag?

Just looking soemthing to keep in the girlfriends car just incase. A "kit" with a bag would be ideal. I know I could make my own up but it'd be a bonus to buy it already made up

I had a tow rope just like that one and when it came to use it (pulling my 523i) it snapped (the hook was pulled off) pretty much straight away!

I've used jump leads as a tow rope, no need to buy two things when one will do both jobs

+ 1, towed a buddys Saab 9 3 and same thing happened, disgraceful lack of quality.

Just get her jump leads, check to see does she have breakdown cover on her insurance, if not maybe get her AA cover, I hate the AA but I would consider getting it for a girlfriend (if I wasn't single :D)

oh yea shes got breakdown cover alright, there just handy to have in the car.

just incase she needs to tow someone or I have to do it when I'm int he car, or to jump someone elses car.

Again +1 on the tow rope snapping.

Apparently a Transit can't pull a Civic on one of them

Most of those all in one kits are DIY rubbish and the tow ropes in them wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding.

You are better off buying quality stuff seperately from a factors and stuffing them into a holdall in the boot of the car.

Sealey make a good heavy duty range of jump leads. As for towing I use an old truck ratchet strap doubled up. (Only for pull starting as it is illegal to tow with a rope :p)
